Beloved of All
Your request shows such genuine love and honor for your mother and father, and that is right and pleasing to God. Scripture tells us to honor our father and mother, and your care for them in their suffering is a beautiful expression of that command. God sees your concern and your prayers for them.
We will join you in praying for your mother, that God would touch her body and bring healing to her lungs from this fungal infection and give wisdom and effectiveness to those caring for her as she also lives with diabetes. We will also pray for your father, for his eyesight to be strengthened, for relief from headaches and the urinary tract problems, for the swelling in his feet to go down, for his blood pressure to be steadied, and for overall good health and strength for both of them.
As we pray for healing, we acknowledge that we do not fully understand all of God's ways in healing. Sometimes He heals instantly with a word or a touch, and sometimes He heals gradually over time. The Gospels show us that Jesus did not heal in only one pattern. At times He touched, at times He spoke from a distance, at times healing came at once and at least once it came gradually. We should not limit how God may work.
All true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or through a process. God has built healing processes into our bodies themselves, and that natural process is no less divine, because He is the one who created nature and its laws. He also brings healing to the mind and heart, lifting fear and bringing peace even while the body is still being restored. That is also His work.
We also know from Scripture that sickness is not always a direct punishment for sin. When the disciples asked Jesus about a man born blind, whether it was his fault or his parents fault, Jesus answered that neither was the cause, but that God would display His works through the situation. So we do not view your parents illness as a sign of God's judgment, but as an opportunity to seek His mercy and to trust Him to show His power and compassion.
We believe God still heals today and we are encouraged to pray earnestly for healing, while also recognizing that the Holy Spirit is sovereign in how He distributes gifts of healing and works miracles. He gives as He wills. And we are reminded that there is something even greater than any gift, which is love. Your faithful love and prayer for your parents reflects that greater way, and God delights in it.
So let us keep asking with faith, and also make use of the help God provides through doctors and treatment, trusting that God can work through those means as well. We trust His wisdom and timing, even when we do not understand why some receive healing quickly and others walk a longer road.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear mother and father to You. You know every detail of their bodies. We ask for Your healing touch upon this mother, to clear the infection from her lungs, to help regulate her body as she deals with diabetes, and to restore her strength. We ask for this father, touch his eyes and restore his sight, relieve his headaches, heal the urinary tract issues, remove the swelling from his feet, and bring his blood pressure into a healthy balance. Give them both peace, comfort, and renewed health. Give wisdom to their family and to those providing medical care. Above all, let Your will be done and let Your works be made manifest in their lives, that they and their family may know Your presence and love. Amen.
