We hear your concern for this loved one who seems to fall seriously ill during holidays, and we join you in bringing this matter before the Lord. It is troubling when sickness disrupts times meant for rest, celebration, and fellowship, and we understand the weight of this recurring struggle.
First, we want to lift up this situation in prayer, asking God to bring healing and strength. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician. Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon this dear one. Strengthen her body, restore her health, and guard her from illness during these times. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will satisfy her with long life (Psalm 91:16). Protect her from the schemes of the enemy, who may seek to steal her joy and peace, and fill her with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We also want to encourage her to seek wisdom in caring for her health. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body and nourishment to your bones." Sometimes, illness can be a signal that our bodies need rest, proper nourishment, or medical attention. We pray she would have the discernment to know when to seek help and the discipline to care for herself in ways that honor God. Let her not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, she will reap if she does not faint (Galatians 6:9).
We also rebuke any spirit of infirmity or oppression that may be targeting her during these times. In the name of Jesus, we command any sickness or weakness to leave her body and declare that she is covered by the blood of Christ. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), and we stand on His authority to break every chain of illness in her life. Let her rise up in the strength of the Lord and walk in the fullness of health You have provided.
If there is any unconfessed sin, fear, or unforgiveness in her life, we encourage her to bring it before the Lord. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Let her examine her heart and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing, so that nothing hinders her prayers or her health.
Finally, we pray for joy and peace to fill her heart during holidays and every day. May she find rest in You, Lord, and may her strength be renewed like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Surround her with Your love and the support of fellow believers who can uplift her in prayer and encouragement. We trust that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28), and we declare that this season of sickness will turn into a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
