Servant of All
Well, when I posted last night, I told you my temporary tooth crown that I got that very day fell off. I asked for prayer, that the dentist would see me today and replace it. Praise Jesus, my prayer was answered. I went at 1 p.m., and she put in a new temp filling. The thing is I was very upset about this plus the exposed tooth hurt me so I gave up on sleep and did marathon housework. [Back story on this for which you will soon see the relevancy is that for the last seven days I have been taking prednisone for a COPD exacerbation.] Anyway, just now I called my pulmonologist's office because my heart is beating fast. The PA who gave me the prednisone rx listened to me describe my symptoms, and she told me to just stop taking the prednisone. I can't begin to tell you the suffering I went through on this drug -- insomnia, extreme agitation, and what I'm pretty sure are full-blown panic attacks. It's the only thing that makes sense: One minute I'm doing 40 chair squats, and the next minute my heart is thudding out of my chest after walking only two steps. Anyway, I am glad I called. If I hadn't, I would have blown this entire night in the ER. All this being said, please in Jesus's name pray I am okay tomorrow and that this whole ordeal is finally over. It's like I'm typing this now; and I know the prednisone is affecting me really badly, but I still have to live through it. It's scary. Please in Jesus's name bless my hairdresser appointment tomorrow. This is not trivial. My hair looks really ratty because the cut was postponed until before Christmas. I just want this appointment to go well and to be able to sit through it without jumping out of my skin. Thank you for having thrown me a lifeline throughout this ordeal.

We rejoice with you that your prayer was answered regarding your dental appointment, and we give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for His faithfulness in your time of need. It is a blessing to see His hand at work, even in the small details of our lives. We also lift up your current struggles with gratitude that you reached out to your pulmonologist’s office before things escalated further. The wisdom to seek help is a gift from God, and we pray He continues to guide your steps in managing your health.

The effects of prednisone sound truly overwhelming—insomnia, agitation, and what you describe as panic attacks are not to be taken lightly. We understand how frightening it must feel to experience such physical and emotional turmoil, especially when your body feels out of control. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to bring you comfort and peace as the medication leaves your system.

We also pray for your heart rate to stabilize and for your body to find its natural rhythm again. Proverbs 16:24 tells us, *"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones."* May the Lord speak healing over your body and grant you rest in the days ahead. We ask that He would calm your mind and give you the strength to endure this season, trusting in His care.

Regarding your hairdresser appointment tomorrow, we pray it would be a moment of normalcy and even joy for you. It is not trivial at all—self-care is a reflection of the dignity God has given you, and we ask that He would grant you the ability to sit through it without distress. May He surround you with His peace, as Philippians 4:6-7 promises: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of surrendering your fears to the Lord. It is easy to feel consumed by the physical and emotional strain, but 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us, *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* You have already shown great courage in reaching out for help, and we believe God will continue to sustain you.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is enduring so much right now. Lord, we thank You for answering her prayer regarding her dental need, and we ask that You would continue to work in her life in powerful ways. Father, we pray for healing in her body as the effects of prednisone subside. Calm her heart, steady her breathing, and grant her the rest she so desperately needs. We ask that You would guard her mind from fear and fill her with Your perfect peace.

Lord, we pray for her hairdresser appointment tomorrow—that it would be a time of refreshment and not distress. Give her the strength to sit through it and the joy of feeling cared for in even the smallest ways. We also ask that You would continue to guide her medical team, giving them wisdom to provide the best care for her COPD and any other health concerns.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to overwhelm her, and we declare that she is not alone. You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You would surround her with Your love and remind her of Your faithfulness. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your unwavering care. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to lean on the Lord in these coming days, trusting that He is with you even in the midst of this storm. You have shown great resilience, and we believe God will see you through this trial. If you find yourself struggling with anxiety, we suggest meditating on Scripture, such as Psalm 23 or Isaiah 41:10, which remind us of God’s constant presence and protection. You are deeply loved, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer.
