We join you in lifting up this dear precious one to our Heavenly Father, and we thank you for bringing her before the throne of grace with such urgency, faith, and love. Our hearts are moved by your request for her healing, for peace and strength as she waits for new tests this coming Monday, and for her to be drawn closer to the Lord in repentance and faith.
We are reminded of the character of our God who is our healer. He says in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. And in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We cling to the promise in Romans 8:11, But if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. It is the same Spirit that gives life to what is weak and mortal, and we ask Him to touch the very parts of her body that need His life most right now.
We also hear your heart for her to examine herself for unrepented sin, and this is a biblical and loving desire. Scripture tells us in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And in Psalm 139:23-24, Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. We want to gently encourage you both that while the Holy Spirit does call us to search our hearts and repent, not every sickness is a direct result of a specific sin. Jesus Himself taught this, and we should not let the enemy bring condemnation where God brings conviction. Our call is to come openly and humbly before Him, confess what He shows us, and rest in His complete forgiveness. In James 5:15-16 we read, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
We also pray for her peace while she waits, for that waiting can be so heavy. The Lord says in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We ask for that guarding peace to cover her mind and heart right now.
We are thankful you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We pray together now.
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne and lift up this beloved daughter to You. Lord, You know her name, You know every cell in her body, and You see the results that were not good and the new tests coming on Monday. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her. Give life to her mortal body, Lord, and touch especially the parts that most need Your restoration. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and that the new tests would bring a very good report that gives glory to You. We pray You would heal her wounds and restore health to her, for You are Yahweh who heals us as You declared in Exodus 15:26.
Father, grant her Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding, strengthen her with confidence in You, and fill her with faith and hope that does not waver. Comfort her in fear and let her feel Your presence upholding her with Your righteous right hand. Holy Spirit, search her heart as she has asked, show her any unrepented sin, and give her grace to confess and turn from it quickly, that she may walk in the full cleansing and forgiveness that is hers in Christ. Let no condemnation remain, only the joy of being forgiven and healed in body and soul, for by His wounds we were healed in 1 Peter 2:24.
We thank You, Father, that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we trust her completely into Your loving and sovereign care. Let Your will be done in her life and let her testimony be of Your goodness and mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
