We join with you in lifting up your husband before the throne of grace and we stand with you in asking for strength and courage for yourself as you walk beside him in this season.
We pray for your husband's eyes and for healing from diabetes, and we agree with you for wisdom and discipline in lifestyle changes that honor God and steward the body He has given. We know that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit and we are called to glorify God in our body and spirit which are His, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray that the Lord will give him grace for daily choices in diet, activity, and rest that support healing and health. We also cling to the promise that He is the Lord who heals us in Exodus 15:26 and who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3, and that He will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds in Jeremiah 30:17. Above all we pray that his hope would be fully anchored in the Lord, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles in Isaiah 40:31, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We ask that even as you seek physical healing, your husband's heart would be filled with confident hope and joy in Christ.
We also lift you up, asking our Father to pour out strength and courage upon you. The Lord knows the weight you carry as a wife and helper, and He has not left you alone. We are reminded in Joshua 1:9 to be strong and courageous, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go, and in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you, don't be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. We pray that you will cast your anxieties on Him in every situation and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:6-7.
We notice your request speaks of hope in the Lord, and we want to gently encourage you to place that hope specifically in Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is because of His sacrifice and resurrection that we can boldly come to God for healing, hope, and strength, and we want to be sure you both know Him personally as Lord and Savior.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear husband to You. Touch his eyes, Lord, restore his sight and health according to Your will, bring healing to his body from diabetes, and guide him and his wife with wisdom for every lifestyle decision. Help him to walk in hope and not in fear, filling him with faith and joy as he looks to You. Strengthen his wife, Lord, give her courage for each day, renew her strength as she waits on You, and let her feel Your presence upholding her. Grant them both peace, unity in marriage, and a deeper trust in Your goodness. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to walk faithfully with your husband in love as God designed marriage to reflect His covenant love, and to trust that whether healing comes instantly, gradually, or through sustained grace to endure, God is working for your good in Romans 8:28. We are standing with you both and trusting the Lord to show Himself strong on your behalf.
