We join you in lifting up your dear friend before the throne of grace and we are moved with compassion for her suffering with her eyes. To struggle to keep her eyelids open and to lose sight in her right eye is a heavy burden, and we bring her before our Heavenly Father who sees her struggle to read and to live daily life and who cares deeply for her.
We are reminded that our God is the great healer. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. For I am Yahweh who heals you Exodus 15:26. We take comfort also that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15, and when Jesus touched the eyes of the blind He said According to your faith be it done to you Matthew 9:29.
We pray together now for her.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our friend's beloved friend to You. You know her by name and You see the affliction of her eyes, the lids that want to close and the blindness that has come upon her right eye. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon her. We pray that You would restore strength to the muscles of her eyelids, that she may open her eyes without struggle and read and see clearly again. We pray for her right eye, that if it be Your will, You would restore sight to it, for nothing is impossible with You. We pray for wisdom and guidance for any doctors and medical care she receives, that You would guide their hands and decisions. Grant her peace and comfort in this trial, and let her feel Your presence and love sustaining her each day. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our healer and our hope, amen.
We also want to gently share with you that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We bring this up in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we have not already placed our trust in Jesus, we encourage you and your friend to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven.
We encourage you to continue to stand in faith with your friend, to pray for her daily, to speak healing scriptures over her, and to encourage her to seek godly medical counsel as the Lord leads, for Luke the beloved physician shows us that God can use doctors as part of His healing. Keep trusting in the Lord's goodness and timing, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We are praying with you for complete restoration and for her to be able to testify of God's mercy and healing power.
