Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are facing with your liver, bladder and kidneys. It is understandable that these symptoms have left you feeling scared, and it is good that you have reached out for prayer.
One of the cures for that kind of fear is remembering the Lord and His presence with you. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. Fear often grows when we forget the Lord and begin to look only at the problem in front of us. Like Peter when he stepped out to walk to Jesus on the water, as long as his eyes were on the Lord he had faith, but when he looked at the wind and the waves fear gripped his heart and he began to sink. Fear and faith cannot live together in the same place. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed out, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear is pushed out. The enemy often tries to use fear because fear is an enemy of faith and it can motivate us to wrong actions. Remembering that God is with you, that He sees you and cares for you, is what quiets that fear.
I want you to know that we do believe in healing and we believe that all healing is from God. The gospels show Jesus healing many people, and He did so in different ways. Sometimes He touched someone, sometimes He only spoke a word from a distance, sometimes people were healed instantly and once He healed gradually. There is no single pattern that He is confined to. There is also a divine healing that God has built into our bodies through the natural processes He created, and that is no less from Him. What we do not fully understand is why some are healed instantly and others are healed gradually or through medical help, and others are not healed in the way we ask. It is a mistake to teach that sickness is a sign of spiritual weakness or a lack of faith. Sickness is part of living in a fallen world, and God's love and power are not measured by whether healing comes in one moment.
Because of that, it is wise and prudent to seek medical care for the symptoms you describe. Doing what is wise is not a lack of faith, and we do it not because we are driven by panic about what the enemy might do, but because we trust God to work through wise means as well as through His direct touch. Whether on the walls or in any other place, if God wills to protect and heal you He is able to do it.
The Bible also speaks about another kind of fear, the reverential awe of God. That fear is not a phobia but a deep respect for who God is, His greatness and power and holiness. That awe is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. It teaches us to love what God loves and to turn from what He calls evil, and it brings a confidence that He will care for those who trust Him. You can ask God to help you grow in that quiet awe of Him even while you are asking for healing. It brings steadiness when scary fear tries to take over.
You mentioned the promise about two or more agreeing in prayer. God does hear when His people pray together and He invites us to pray together in Jesus name, but that verse is not a formula that guarantees we will wake up tomorrow exactly as we have dictated. God hears and answers according to His perfect wisdom and love and will. So we will join our faith with yours and ask for His mercy and healing for you, trusting His goodness whatever the timing or method He chooses.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this need before You. You know the fear and the symptoms affecting the liver, bladder and kidneys. We ask for Your healing touch, whether instantly or gradually or through the care of doctors, and we ask for Your peace to replace fear. Help this dear one to keep eyes on You, to remember that You are with them in this valley, and to rest in reverent trust in You. Give wisdom to doctors, give comfort in the night, and give faith to trust Your will. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Savior, amen.
Please do reach out for medical evaluation promptly and keep letting others pray with you as you walk through this. God is with you and we are continuing to pray for you.
