Healing

We have received your request and we are praying for you now. Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are carrying.

We hear that you feel attacked in your thoughts and that you are struggling in your relationship with your mother. God sees you and He hears you when you call on Him. Scripture tells us that the Lord is a stronghold for those who fear Him, and that when we build our lives upon the rock which is Christ, the storms and attacks cannot destroy us even when they press hard against us. That building is made strong through prayer, through His Word, and through walking in His ways.

You mentioned that Satan is attacking your thoughts. The enemy often assails us most when we are alone and isolated, just as he approached Eve when she was apart. For that reason we encourage you not to remain alone in this battle. Keep flocking together with other believers, stay rooted in a faithful local church, and continue in prayer with others with one accord. When we are banded together in Christ, the enemy is less confident to attack. Bring your thoughts into the light before the Lord and before trusted mature Christians who can pray with you and help you test every thought against Scripture. Virtue and a clear conscience before God bring quiet and safety, while living apart from Him leaves us restless and fearful. If troubling thoughts condemn you, bring them quickly to Christ for forgiveness and cleansing, and ask Him to renew your mind day by day.

We also hear your pain regarding your mother. God commanded us to honor father and mother, and this command still stands. Christ Himself was subject to His parents and He showed care for His mother even from the cross. Honoring does not mean that hurtful words or bullying are acceptable or that you must remain without help. Love is the mother of countless good things, and we are called to pursue what is loving and good while also walking in humility and not thinking highly of ourselves. Where parents cause no hindrance to what God requires, we give way to them with respect. Where there is harm or hindrance, it is right and wise to seek help from godly and safe people around you, such as a pastor, an elder, or another mature believer who can give you counsel and protection and who can also pray for your mother.

We are praying for your healing, for peace in your mind, and for grace in your home.

Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne. You know the attacks on their thoughts and the pain they feel at home. We ask You to guard their mind and heart in Christ Jesus, to quiet fear, to cast out every lie of the enemy, and to fill them with Your truth and peace. Build them firmly upon the rock so that when shaking comes they will stand. Surround them with faithful brothers and sisters who will pray with them and walk with them, so they are not left alone in the struggle. We pray also for their mother. Work in her heart, bring healing to this family, teach both to honor You and to love what is good, and give wisdom to know how to act with both respect and safety. Lead them to the right help and counsel, and let their home know Your mercy. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Please stay connected to a local church and tell a trusted pastor or Christian leader near you what you are facing so they can continue to support you and pray with you personally. We will keep praying for you.

Thank you for sharing so honestly and for asking for prayer. God hears you and He cares about what you are going through in your mind and in your home.

What you described about your thoughts is a very real spiritual conflict. Often when we are under attack we react in a natural way and do not see the spiritual nature of what is happening. One of the first helps is simply to recognize that the enemy can attack our minds, and he often does it in a quiet and deceptive way so we do not at first see it for what it is. Once it is recognized as a spiritual attack, it can be faced in the right way.

The Scripture says that God understands our thoughts from afar off, and the meaning there is that He knows our thoughts at their very origin, before we even think them. He is not distant from you, watching from far away. He is near and He knows exactly where these troubling thoughts begin and what is weighing on your heart. You can be open with Him about them, and you can ask Him to search you and try you, so that you may know what is in your own heart and He may show you what is true and bring healing.

In times of attack the example given in Scripture is to turn first to prayer. The leaders God used in the Old Testament were people of prayer who asked for His guidance before they acted. When opposition came against the rebuilding of the wall, they did not only pray, they also stayed watchful. Some worked while others kept watch, and each person worked with a tool in one hand and a weapon ready in the other, listening for the trumpet that would call for help. In the same way, you can pray and also stay watchful by keeping the Word of God close to you. The Word is the way we stand against the strongholds of the enemy in our minds. Memorizing and speaking Scripture, even short verses about God's love and truth, allows God to replace lies and fear with His peace.

I also hear your pain about your mother. God's design for the family is that children would grow up in an environment of love and security where they learn about Him and His love for them. A mother has a very important ministry in the home to nurture and teach her children in the ways of the Lord. When that is not happening and you feel bullied instead of loved, it brings deep hurt. Scripture still calls us to honor our father and mother, and that promise carries blessing. Honoring does not mean that hurtful behavior is acceptable or that you should remain alone without help. It means showing respect, not returning evil for evil, praying for her, and also seeking wise and safe help from a mature believer or counselor who can support you in person and help you know what healthy boundaries look like.

God can use even trials to show us our own hearts more clearly, because we often think more highly of ourselves than we should, and hardship reveals what we truly need from Him. He wants to use this season to draw you closer to Himself and to build you up in His truth.

I am praying for you now for healing and for peace in your mind.

Father, I bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus. You know every thought at its source and every hurt that has come from this conflict at home. I ask that You bring healing, quiet the attacks of the enemy, and fill this mind with Your truth and peace. Teach how to recognize the spiritual battle and to stand with prayer and Your Word as a sword. Bring comfort, protection, and wisdom for the relationship with mother, and provide trusted people nearby who can give godly counsel and support. Draw this heart close to You and let Your love be known in a fresh way. Amen.

Please keep staying in prayer and in the Scriptures each day, and reach out to a trusted pastor or counselor near you who can walk with you personally and continue to pray with you.
