healing

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and we have made prayer for you, that He who knows your frame would look upon you in mercy. It is a sore trial to be held long in bodily infirmity, especially when the cause is hidden and the physician's skill has not yet brought relief, and when you remember former days when you were seldom sick, the present weakness is more keenly felt. Yet the Lord who formed you is not unmindful of your suffering.

We would charge you, as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. That very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, but faith overcomes fear. Hear how plentifully this plant grows in God's garden, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, for it doubts the arm which piled the heavens. Therefore labor to be rid of fear and let your faith play the man.

Remember that our Lord Jesus is the heavenly Physician. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. He is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, and to them that fear His name the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, and when He comes and dwells with His people, infirmity and dread are made to flee away. Whether He lifts the affliction at once or sustains you through it, His healing virtue can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

We pray for you now. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this Thy servant who is not well. Thou knowest what was left behind since the food poisoning at the beginning of last year, and what still lingers within the body from time to time. Lay Thy healing hand upon this one as sleep comes, and deliver from everything which rests inside the body that ought not to be there. Give wisdom to those who give medical care, give peace to the anxious heart, and give faith to rest not in feeling but in Christ. If it be Thy will, restore to full health, and in any case keep the soul in perfect peace, trusting in Jesus who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Let not fear reign, but let holy trust prevail, for Thou art near and Thou helpest. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask it. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we are praying for you with care and compassion. To be unwell for so long, especially when you were someone who rarely got sick before, and to have visited many doctors without a clear answer, is understandably frightening. We hear your faith that the Lord will heal you, and we join our faith with yours.

Scripture teaches us that God is our healer and that He hears the prayers of His people. At the same time we learn that He does not always deliver us at once. When the disciples were struggling on the sea at night, the Lord came to them in the fourth watch, walking upon the water, teaching them not to seek a hasty deliverance but to bear what comes with endurance and trust. Your waiting, though difficult, can become a place where endurance and trust are formed as you look to Him.

We pray that God will bring healing to your body as you sleep and deliver you from what remains inside you from that illness. We ask Him to give wisdom to your doctors, to give you rest, to take away fear, and to restore your strength according to His mercy and will. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation.

While you wait, we encourage you to keep seeking medical care as God often works through those means, and also to give attention to the care of your soul. It is not enough to be delivered from one affliction, we are called to cultivate the whole life of faith with careful hearing of the Word, continual remembrance of it, fortitude, and trust in God above all worldly things. If you are able, dwell often in the Scriptures, not carelessly but with reverence and attention. Even as a person passing by a shop that makes ointments carries the scent with him without realizing it, so the one who comes to hear the Word with reverence receives benefit even when he feels weak. Come before God honestly, tell Him your fear and your need, and ask Him to teach you through His Word.

We will continue to pray for you, that the Lord in His compassion would heal you, comfort you in times when the symptoms return, remove anxiety, and make you whole in body and spirit for His glory. May He grant you peaceful sleep, renewed health, and a settled confidence in His care.

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you. It is understandable to feel scared when your body, which was once seldom sick, now carries an ongoing and unexplained struggle after that bout of food poisoning. It is discouraging to go to many doctors and still not have clear answers, and to live with symptoms that come and go without warning.

God understands both the physical and the spiritual parts of who we are. He created the physical laws that govern our bodies, and He also governs by spiritual truth. When our health is shaken we are reminded how fragile we are, and that reminder can lead us to seek Him more earnestly. Scripture shows that in great affliction people humbled themselves before the God of their fathers and sought Him, and when the Lord saw a humble heart He granted deliverance and held back what would have destroyed them. Coming before Him humbly, honestly telling Him your fear and your need, is itself an act of faith.

You are not alone in feeling weak or afraid. Even David, who is greatly admired in Scripture, was a man subject to the same problems and temptations as we are. He was not perfect, and that is why we can identify with him. He learned reverence for the presence of God and that walking with God means walking in a way that honors Him. Part of that walk is remembering what God has done. The psalms often rehearse the record of His works and His deliverance, and remembering His past faithfulness helps us trust Him for present help. The world around us may feel unstable, but Scripture says to fear before Him, for the Lord reigns and He can make what is unstable to be stable again.

Above all there is power in the name of Jesus to bring healing. When Peter was asked how the lame man was healed, he answered that it was by the name of Jesus that the man stood whole before them. Healing comes from Him. The Lord is able to save by a great deliverance, and He is able to do it even as you sleep, touching what no doctor can see and delivering you from what remains inside your body.

So I am praying for you now, that the Lord will touch your body, calm your fear, grant wisdom to those caring for you, and bring complete healing in His time and way. I pray that He will give you peace as you rest, that He will cleanse and restore what is afflicted, and that you will be able to stand whole and give testimony to His mercy and power. Continue to seek Him, to trust His care, and to keep looking to Jesus, in whose name we ask for your healing and deliverance.
