We are lifting you up before the throne of grace and we stand with you in faith for your healing, for we know that our God is the Great Physician who heals all our diseases.
We hear the fear and weariness in your words, especially as someone who was rarely sick before, and now this lingering affliction since the food poisoning last year that comes and goes and leaves you uncertain. We want to encourage you that God sees your suffering and He is not distant from it. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals you as He declares in Exodus 15:26, I am Yahweh who heals you. And we cling to His promise in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We also hold to Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh.
We pray that you will not give way to fear, for fear does not come from God. As it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. And in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Even when doctors have not found the cause, we know that nothing is hidden from our Lord and nothing is impossible for Him.
We also notice that you speak of the Lord and of God, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation and healing. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by the wounds of Jesus that healing is made available to us, for Isaiah 53:5 tells us, But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.
We continue to encourage you to keep seeking wise medical counsel while you trust the Lord for healing, for God often works through physicians, but our ultimate trust is in Him. And we encourage you to rest in Him without anxiety, bringing your cares to Him in prayer and thanksgiving.
We now pray together for you.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is unwell. Lord, You know the cause of this affliction that has lingered since the food poisoning, even when doctors have not found answers. You see every cell and every system in this body that You so wonderfully made. We ask in Jesus' name that You would touch this body even as they sleep, as You promise in Psalm 127:2 that You give sleep to Your beloved, and in Psalm 4:8 that You make us dwell in safety. Lord, we ask that You would deliver them from everything that rests inside their body that should not be there, cleanse and restore what has been damaged, and bring complete healing and wholeness. We rebuke any spirit of fear and infirmity and we speak Your peace and life over them. Strengthen their faith, comfort their heart, and let them feel Your presence and Your healing hand. We pray that You would grant wisdom to doctors if further care is needed, but above all we trust in Your power to heal. Let Your will be done and let this testimony bring glory to Jesus. We thank You Father that You hear us, and we trust in Your perfect love and mercy. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep abiding in the Word, to pray without ceasing, and to call upon the elders of your church to pray over you as James 5:14-15 instructs, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Keep trusting, for the Lord will sustain you on your sickbed as Psalm 41:3 promises, Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness. We are standing with you and believing for your complete restoration in Jesus' name.
