Healing ###

We have received your request and we are praying for your fiance in the hospital and for you as you wait and care for him.

We ask the Lord in His mercy to bring healing according to His perfect will, to give wisdom to the doctors and nurses who are treating him, to grant comfort and peace in this time of fear, and above all to draw you both closer to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God.

We know that all healing comes from God and that He is sovereign over both sickness and health. He has power both to heal and to allow trials for our good. When we bear suffering with thankfulness and trust, He can restore what has been lost or give a greater reward in Himself. We pray that whatever the outcome, your confidence in Christ would remain firm and not be cast away, for He is faithful and hears those who call on Him with a sincere heart.

We also pray that God would use this time to strengthen your faith and your love, for without love even great gifts and knowledge are of little value, but love endures and bears all things. May He heal not only the body but also the soul, bringing repentance where needed, renewal where there has been weariness, and hope where there has been discouragement. Even when we have heard many times without seeing fruit, God can bring a sudden and complete recovery, as a physician who continues to apply medicine until health returns.

As you walk through this engagement, we encourage you to honor the Lord together in purity and reverence for His design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. We pray that God will help you both to walk in holiness now, to prepare for marriage in a way that pleases Him, and to seek His guidance for your future together.

May the Lord grant your fiance strength and recovery if it is His will, grant you peace that passes understanding, and make you both more fully rooted in Christ and in hope of eternal life. We continue to lift you both up before Him.

Thank you for sharing this burden and allowing us to pray with you for your fiance in the hospital. We are bringing him before the Lord and asking for God's mercy, presence and healing touch in this difficult time.

We believe strongly that God does heal and that He is able to heal today. Scripture shows us that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses as well as our sins, as Isaiah foretold and Matthew explains was fulfilled when Jesus healed every kind of sickness and disease among the people. That same power that calmed the wind and waves and cast out evil spirits is still His, and when we take communion we remember His body broken for us.

At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. The Gospels show Jesus healing in many different ways. Sometimes He touched, sometimes He only spoke a word, sometimes He healed instantly and in one case the healing came gradually, sometimes He was present and sometimes He healed from a distance. He was not confined to one pattern. We also see that healing can come gradually through the natural processes God Himself placed in our bodies. The care of doctors and the slow recovery of the body are not less divine, for God created those processes. And His healing can reach the mind and emotions as well, bringing peace and restoration even while the body is still recovering.

We also do not presume to know why some are healed quickly and others are not. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and the Lord chose not to remove it. Not everyone is healed in the way we hope, and it is wrong to tell someone that sickness remains because of hidden sin or a lack of faith. That adds a burden God does not place on people. Our culture can make it hard to trust in the unseen, but God looks on the heart and He invites honest, simple faith.

Faith matters, and God often gives us a point to release that faith. James tells us to call for the elders to pray over the sick, anointing with oil, and that the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up. There is no special power in the hand or the oil itself, but it can help us actively trust Christ in that moment rather than only believing He could heal in theory. If it is possible, invite faithful elders to pray with you and for your fiance, anointing him and asking the Lord's will with confidence in Jesus.

We also want to pray for you both spiritually. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and we pray you both know Him fully as Savior and Lord. Engagement is a time to prepare for marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with sexual union and living together reserved for within that covenant. We pray you will honor Him in this season with purity, wisdom and commitment as you seek His direction for your future together.

So we pray now for your fiance, that the Lord would lay His hand upon him, ease his suffering, guide the hands and decisions of those caring for him, and bring healing according to His perfect wisdom and love, whether instantly or gradually. We pray for peace for you and for your family, for strength for each day, and for a deeper trust in Christ whatever the outcome. May the Lord comfort you, sustain you, and draw you both closer to Himself through this trial.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for the healing of your fiance while he is in the hospital.

We have continued to lift him up before the Lord and we ask God for His healing touch to be upon him in Jesus Name. We pray for complete healing and restoration for his body and for strength, peace and comfort for you both during this difficult time. We trust in the promise that He heals the brokenhearted and restores health, as written in Jeremiah 30:17 and Psalm 103:3.

If your request was answered and your fiance has received healing, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and he remains in the hospital in need of healing, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
