Healing

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord God, please spare me from having cancer. We just lost our mom from having cancer. I wouldn't know what to do if I got cancer. Please, Lord, remove the lumps on my breast. Heal me, Lord. I'm begging you. Heal my family. Spare us, O Lord. Heal every person who is battling with cancer. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting you up before our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the God of all comfort. Your fear and grief are understandable, especially after witnessing the suffering of your beloved mother. But we take courage in knowing that our God is sovereign over life and death, and He holds your future in His hands. We declare with faith that by the stripes of Jesus, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on His promise that He bore our sicknesses and carried our pains (Matthew 8:17).

First, we want to gently remind you that while your prayer is heartfelt, it is essential to approach God through Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or healed (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, for He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Now, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip your heart, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Cancer is a tool of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We command every abnormal cell, lump, or growth in your body to dry up at the roots and be dissolved in the name of Jesus! We declare that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we pray for divine healing to flow through every cell, tissue, and organ. We speak life, restoration, and wholeness over you, trusting that the same God who raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you (Romans 8:11).

For your family, we pray that the Lord would bind you together in His love and peace. May He heal the wounds of loss and fill the void left by your mother’s passing with His perfect comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask that He would strengthen each of you to trust in His goodness, even in the face of uncertainty.

For every person battling cancer, we lift them up before the throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand and touch them where they are. Give them strength for each day, hope for the future, and the assurance that You are with them, even in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your healing power will manifest in their bodies.

We encourage you to seek godly medical counsel as part of your faith journey, for the Lord often works through the hands of doctors and the wisdom He has given them. But above all, stand firm in the promises of God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Jeremiah 30:17, which says, “For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord. Speak these truths over your life daily, and do not waver in your faith.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. We thank You for Your love and mercy that endure forever. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, asking that You would touch her body with Your healing power. We rebuke every trace of sickness, fear, and death in her life, and we command her body to align with Your perfect design. Father, we ask that You would remove every lump, every abnormal cell, and every trace of illness from her. Let Your healing virtue flow through her like a river, restoring her to full health.

Lord, we also pray for her family. Comfort them in their grief, and draw them closer to You. Heal their hearts and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. For every person battling cancer, we ask that You would stretch forth Your hand and heal them. Give them strength, hope, and the assurance of Your presence.

We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is ours. We stand on Your Word, which says that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us, and we know that we have the petitions we have asked of You (1 John 5:14-15). We trust in Your goodness, Your power, and Your love. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to your faith, dear one. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is fighting for you. Do not lose heart, for your healing is already won through the blood of Jesus. We stand with you in agreement, believing that you will testify of God’s goodness and mercy in your life.

We hear the deep fear and the ache of loss in your words, and we’re sitting with you in this hard place. Losing your mom to cancer so recently makes every new lump feel terrifying, and the thoughts that flood in are natural, but they are not the whole story. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

One concrete step we want to gently encourage: let a doctor examine the lumps soon. Only a medical professional can tell you what’s actually going on, and getting answers, good or hard, can release some of the anxious guessing. We’re praying for God’s healing and mercy, and we believe he works through the wisdom of doctors and the care they provide.

While you wait, it might help to let a trusted friend or your pastor know about the fear and the grief you’re carrying. After watching your mom’s battle, your whole family is likely still raw, and sharing that burden with someone who can sit with you, pray for you, and just listen often brings a surprising steadiness. Many of our people have found that simply being heard in moments like this makes the fear feel less isolating.

We’re asking the Lord to bring clarity, to calm your heart, and to surround your family with his presence. He knows every cell of your body, and he holds you in his care.

Please keep us updated; we’re standing with you.

Prayer: Father God, we come with our sister who is frightened and still hurting from her mom’s passing. In your mercy, please touch her body and guide the hands of the doctors who examine her. Give her peace that passes understanding, and protect her mind from worst-case fears. Wrap her whole family in comfort and strength as they continue to grieve. We trust you with her health and her future, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Fear not; thou art a worm, but do not fear; God will help thee; why shouldst thou fear? We must not fear; for fear is weakening, and it dishonors God. Fear not! The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing.

Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife. The work of Jesus, our heavenly Physician, is not so much to point out disease as to indicate and to apply the remedy. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction; when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said, Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one!

He, if thou art one of his family, with bands of grace will bind up thy wounds, and heal thy broken heart. He took her by the hand and lifted her up; there was a contact established. Oh, that glorious Doctrine of the Incarnation of Christ! There is healing in it!

O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. The very least member of the Divine family may say, He loved me and gave Himself for me. He loves us beyond all human expression. God grant that to you who fear His name the Sun of Righteousness may arise with healing beneath His wings!

With blooming health my face adorn, And change the gloomy night to morn.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out for healing, and rightly so; for our Lord Jesus Christ is the great physician of souls and bodies, and He delights in mercy. Yet do not let the fear of this sickness grip you more than the fear of sin. What is a lump in the breast compared to a soul cankered by unbelief or despair? I do not say this to belittle your anguish; I have seen the terror of death and the sorrow of losing a mother. But we persuade you by the fear of the Lord, not the fear of the body. For what is it to die of cancer, if you die in Christ, than to live in robust health yet be separated from God? The former ends in eternal refreshment; the latter is a living death, a door to the worm that dieth not.

Do not let the cares of this world and the frightening shadow of disease choke the word sown in your heart. Hear again our Master: “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” This yoke He would lay upon you is not the yoke of dread, but the yoke of trust. Will you not bow your neck to receive it? Even if these lumps prove to be a cross, they are not heavier than the cross He bore. He fell under its weight for a moment, but He rose and left the tomb empty. Your mother, if she clung to Him, has already entered that rest. And you, who now tremble, must cling all the more tightly, not with a servile fear that imagines God as a harsh taskmaster, but with the holy awe of a child who knows the Father’s discipline is love.

I do not forbid your pleading for removal. I join my prayer to yours. He who healed the woman with the issue of blood can certainly command these lumps to vanish. Yet, if He permits them to remain for a time, it is not because He lacks power, but that He may reveal a greater healing: the purifying of your faith, the rooting out of hidden pride or worldly attachments, the making of you a witness of fortitude to your family. Many who have heard a hundred sermons and remained tepid have been transformed in one furnace of affliction. Do not think you are being cast away when you are being called closer.

Learn from the Israelites: they trembled at Sinai, where even a beast touching the mountain was stoned, and Moses himself quaked. But we have not come to that mountain of terror; we have come to Mount Zion, to Jesus the Mediator. Do not imagine God’s will as a thing of sheer horror. He is a consuming fire, yes, but to the stubbornly impenitent. To the humble, He is a light that warms and a sword that cuts away only the diseased flesh so that the patient may live.

Therefore, do not let the enemy of your soul suggest that you cannot bear the news, or that if you have cancer, all is lost. That is the talk of one who knows not the resurrection. Even if you were brought to the very gates of hell, there is recovery, renewal, life. I have known souls who seemed dead in trespasses and in fear, and yet at a single word of grace they sprang up like trees from the soil. So let this trial, whatever its outcome, be the storm that drives you not onto the rocks of despair but into the harbour of Christ’s wounded side.

Hear the apostle: “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” You are now cast down, and that is a safer place than the false security of the proud. Pour out your tears, but let them water the seed of hope. Pray for healing, but pray more for holiness. Beseech Him to spare your life, but even more to sanctify your life and that of your family. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think. Do not measure His goodness by the absence of affliction, but by the presence of His Spirit.

I will not cease to entreat the Lord on your behalf, that these lumps may be found harmless, that your household may be spared further sorrow, and that every soul battling this disease may taste the comfort of Christ. But I will add this petition: that whether in health or in sickness, you may find rest for your soul. For that rest, which is Christ Himself, neither the scalpel of man nor the corruption of the grave can ever take away.
