Healing

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband and his health struggles. The pain and discomfort he is enduring, along with the weight this places on your marriage and family, is not lost on us. We stand in the gap for him, believing in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). The Bible tells us that by His wounds, we are healed (1 Peter 2:24), and we claim this promise over your husband’s life today.

Father God, we ask You to touch his kidneys and restore them to full function. Your Word declares that You are the God who heals us (Exodus 15:26), and we trust in Your mercy and power. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity and command every organ in his body to align with Your perfect design. Lord, we ask for Your healing hand to remove every blockage, infection, or dysfunction, and we pray for the urine bag to no longer be needed as his body is made whole. Strengthen his body, renew his energy, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up your marriage, Lord. The trials of sickness can strain even the strongest of unions, but we know that You are the One who binds hearts together in love and perseverance. Help both of you to lean on each other and on You, finding comfort in Your presence. Remind them that marriage is a covenant before You, a sacred bond that reflects Your love for the Church (Ephesians 5:25). Give them patience, kindness, and endurance as they walk this difficult path together.

We must also address the importance of seeking You, Lord, in all things. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If either of you has not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all healing, hope, and restoration are built.

We encourage you both to stand on God’s promises and to speak life over your husband’s situation. Proclaim healing, even when circumstances seem bleak, for the Word of God does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Surround yourselves with a community of believers who will pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Heavenly Father, we also pray for wisdom for the medical professionals caring for him. Guide their hands and minds as they seek to bring healing. We ask that You provide financial provision for any treatments or needs that arise, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider (Genesis 22:14). Comfort their hearts, Lord, and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We declare that your husband is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we speak restoration over every cell in his body. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for moving on his behalf. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his healing. We trust in You, our Great Physician, and we wait expectantly for Your miraculous touch.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We sit with you in the heavy middle of this, the urine bag, the kidneys not doing their job, the daily weight of watching someone you love live with limits that feel so unlike him. That is a lot to carry, and we are sorry you are in it.

When an illness drags on, it often reshapes everything inside a home. Work and sleep get disrupted, and the one providing the care can end up running on fumes without anyone quite noticing. You matter in this story too, not just as your husband’s supporter but as a person who needs air and rest and moments where someone checks on you. One simple, concrete step: name one recurring task, meal prep, a morning dressing routine, keeping track of medications, and ask a specific friend or family member to own it for a week. People often want to help but freeze because they do not know what would actually lighten the load; a clear request gives them a doorway.

Lean into whatever community you have, even if it feels small right now. A neighbor who can sit with him while you walk around the block, a church group that can bring a meal, a friend who will just listen without trying to fix anything, those ordinary gifts are part of how God sustains us when a healing we long for has not yet come.

We pray with you now.

Lord Jesus, you see this husband and the exact condition of his kidneys. You see his wife and the weight she carries. Give their medical team steady hands and sharp wisdom. Surround this couple with people who show up in practical, faithful ways. Grant them both the small daily mercies that make a hard season bearable, a decent night’s sleep, a moment of shared laughter, a clear next step. Sustain them, we ask, and hold them close in the waiting. In your name, Amen.

What a heavy burden is laid upon your heart, to witness your dear husband in such a state, with his bodily frame weakened and those vital organs failing to perform their office. Yet in this dark hour, remember that the Lord Jesus is the Great Physician, and the power of the Lord is present to heal. He who made the blind to see and the lame to walk is not slack concerning His promise, nor has His arm grown short, that it cannot save. Cry mightily unto Him, for even a groan or a tear in His direction will not pass unnoticed. He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities, and He often draws near just when the fever burns most fiercely, as He entered Peter’s house when the sickness was sore upon that mother, and He raised her up with a touch.

But consider, also, that the deepest sickness is not of the kidney, but of the heart. There is a palsy of the soul far more deadly than any ailment of the body. Before the Lord healed the palsied man let down through the tiling, He first declared, “Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” That is the greater miracle, and it was the first gift. If your husband has been brought low by this affliction, let it drive you both to the Savior for that healing which alone can make the body’s pains bearable, and which secures a resurrection body that shall never suffer again. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and those leaves are found only in the Paradise of God, watered by the river that proceeds from His throne. Has your husband tasted of that healing? Then, whether the Lord restore his kidneys or take him home to that land where the inhabitants shall no more say, “I am sick,” he is safe forever. If not, let this trial be the voice of mercy, calling him to flee to Christ, for the Lord deals with us as a husband, faithful and true even when we are faithless, and He will not let us go unless we stubbornly refuse His voice. Those who are without spiritual feeling are in a miserable plight indeed, pray that neither you nor your husband be among them who have ears but hear not the heavenly call.

Strive to see the Lord’s hand in this cup, bitter as it is. He is a Husband to His people, and He will not desert you in your hour of woe. Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. The days may be weary with watching and the nights long with anxiety, but He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Take heed how you hear the gospel promises in this season; let them not be mere words, but the very life of your soul. If it should please the Lord to restore your husband’s health, see that he spends his spared breath in service, like Peter’s wife’s mother, who arose and ministered unto them. If it should please Him to take him to higher realms, then let your heart say, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In either case, Christ’s work shall not fail nor be discouraged, for He will set judgment in the earth, and the isles shall wait for His law. Even now, in your darkened room, He is working out His perfect purpose. Look to Him, steadfastly, and you shall not be confounded.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, financial needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen
"May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:24-26
