We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your situation to Him in prayer. Fourteen years ago, you received a diagnosis of leukemia, and yet you have not undergone treatment. We understand that this must have been a deeply personal decision, and we trust that you sought the Lord’s guidance in it. Now, your husband faces the challenge of Parkinson’s disease, and we stand with you both, interceding for God’s healing, strength, and peace.
First, we want to acknowledge the sovereignty of God in all things. The Bible tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* God is our healer, and we believe in His power to restore health and bring comfort in times of suffering. We also recognize that healing may come in ways we do not expect—whether through medical intervention, divine miracle, or the grace to endure with faith. Whatever the outcome, we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
We pray for your physical healing, dear sister. For you, who have carried the burden of leukemia for so long, we ask the Lord to touch your body with His healing hand. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and declare that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). May the Lord strengthen your immune system, restore your vitality, and grant you the energy to live each day with purpose. We also pray for wisdom for you and your husband as you navigate these health challenges. If there are medical options you have not yet explored, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and consider what steps may align with the Lord’s will for your lives.
For your husband, we pray specifically for relief from the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. We ask the Lord to slow the progression of this illness and to grant him strength, mobility, and clarity of mind. In Isaiah 41:10, God promises, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* We claim this promise for him and for you, trusting that God will uphold you both with His righteous right hand.
We also lift up your marriage before the Lord. Sickness can place a tremendous strain on a relationship, but we pray that your bond with your husband would grow even stronger through this trial. May you both find comfort in one another and in the Lord, who is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We encourage you to lean on each other, to communicate openly, and to seek support from your church family and godly friends. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and we pray that yours would be a testimony of love, faithfulness, and resilience in the face of adversity.
We must also address the importance of seeking the Lord’s will in all things, including decisions about medical treatment. While we respect your choice to forgo treatment for leukemia, we urge you to continually seek the Lord’s guidance through prayer and Scripture. James 5:14-15 says, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We encourage you to seek prayer from your church elders and to remain open to the Lord’s leading, whether that be through medical intervention or continued trust in His providence.
Above all, we pray that your faith would remain steadfast in the midst of these trials. The enemy would love to use sickness and suffering to shake your trust in God, but we declare that you will not be moved. We pray that you and your husband would fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). May you find joy in the Lord, even in the midst of pain, and may your testimony bring glory to His name.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your goodness. We lift up this sister and her husband to You, asking for Your healing touch to be upon them. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we believe in Your power to heal and restore. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and declare that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Father, we ask for Your strength to uphold them daily. Grant them the grace to endure with patience and the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). For the wife, we pray for complete healing from leukemia. Strengthen her body, Lord, and renew her vitality. For the husband, we pray for relief from Parkinson’s disease. Slow its progression, Lord, and grant him mobility, strength, and clarity of mind.
We also pray for their marriage, Father. Draw them closer to one another and to You. May their love for each other grow deeper through this trial, and may they find comfort in Your presence. Surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them.
Lord, we ask for wisdom for them both as they navigate these health challenges. Guide their decisions and lead them in the path You have for them. May they always seek Your will above all else.
Finally, Father, we pray that their faith would remain unshaken. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus and to find joy in You, even in the midst of suffering. May their testimony bring glory to Your name and draw others to You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
