I am waiting for an appointment with an oncologist, but they cannot get me in for 4 weeks. I pray that I can get in sooner, so that I would have more information about my condition. We have read your request with heavy hearts and we join with you now in prayer as you wait for answers and carry this heavy burden of cancer that has spread to your breast and lungs and behind your eyes and the distress of not being able to taste food. We are lifting you before our heavenly Father and asking for His mercy and nearness in these long days of waiting.

We are reminded of how God sees you and knows your suffering intimately and He is our healer and our peace. The Scripture tells us in Isaiah 41:10 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And in Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to the promise in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals, as He declares in Exodus 15:26 I am Yahweh who heals you, and we trust that nothing is too difficult for Him, even when the report is overwhelming. Psalm 103:3 reminds us that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases.

While we pray for a miraculous touch, we also encourage you to continue to advocate for yourself medically in this waiting period. We pray with you for favor to get an earlier appointment with the oncologist, and we encourage you to call the office often to ask to be placed on a cancellation list, to have your primary doctor reach out on your behalf, and to let the staff know the urgency of your symptoms. God often works through the hands of physicians and through open doors that we persist in seeking.

We noticed your prayer was to God for healing and peace, and we want to gently encourage you to bring your requests in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To pray in Jesus name is not just words at the end of a prayer, it is confessing our faith that His death and resurrection has opened the way for us to come boldly to God for mercy, forgiveness, and healing. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name daily.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear one who is suffering with metastatic cancer. Lord, You know the scans and You know every cell in her body, and You know the fear and the weariness of waiting four weeks for answers. We ask first for Your peace to guard her heart and mind as she rests in Your hands. Lord, we ask for Your healing power to touch her breast and lungs and the area behind her eyes, to restore her ability to taste and to nourish her body, and to bring comfort to her body day and night. We pray that You would make a way for her to be seen sooner by the oncology team, that a cancellation or an opening would come quickly and that she would receive clear information and wise and compassionate care. Give wisdom to every doctor and nurse who will treat her. Strengthen her family and surround her with support and hope. Above all, draw her close to Jesus, assure her of Your love and Your presence, and let her feel that she is upheld by Your righteous right hand. We ask this according to Your will and for Your glory, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Waiting four weeks for the oncologist when you need information soon can feel especially heavy, and we hear how much you long for both healing and peace.

While you wait, one gentle step that sometimes helps is to stay in close contact with your care team. If you have not already, you might call the oncology office to ask to be placed on a cancellation list and let your primary care office know you are hoping for an earlier opening, they can often advocate for you. It can also help to bring a trusted friend or family member to that first appointment and to jot down questions as they come up, so you do not have to hold everything in memory alone. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to keep your medical team updated about any changes, including the loss of taste, so they can support you well.

We are holding you before the Lord with care, asking for comfort for you in these days of not knowing, and for wisdom for the doctors who will care for you.

Father, in Jesus name we lift ### to You. You see her body, her waiting, and her heart. We ask for Your nearness and peace to steady her each day, for an opening to see the oncologist sooner if possible, and for wisdom and kindness from her care team. We ask for Your healing mercy according to Your will, and that she would feel held in Your hands today. Amen.

Your trial has been laid before the Lord with much tenderness and prayer, and we join you in bringing this great burden to the throne of grace. To hear of cancer spread in breast and lungs and behind the eyes, of the loss of taste, and of the long waiting for the physician, is to feel how heavy the sorrow is that now surrounds you. Yet you have spoken wisely and well when you say that you pray for peace as you know it is in His hands.

There is a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away, for it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is that perfect peace of which we sing, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. It may be enjoyed even when sorrows are surging round and when duties press and when the body is weak. It is a present possession for the soul that stays itself upon Christ. Bear your sorrow with Him, look to Him, and you shall find that even in this midnight He can cause a heavenly light to gleam within.

Christ is the great Physician, and there is an abundance of healing power in Him. It is written that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that with His stripes we are healed. The least thing about Christ is healing, and His very touch brings life. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, for when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. We counsel you, as you seek healing for the body, to trust wholly to the Lamb of God who takes away sin. If you can but look to the Cross so as to trust wholly in Him, you shall have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, and that peace is the foundation of all other comfort. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself dying and you shall live.

You speak of waiting, and waiting is hard when the body suffers and the mind longs for knowledge. Yet we are told that the Lord waits that He may be gracious, and His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair nor in hesitation, but waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope. All the joy of the Lord and all the peace that comes of faith do not always come at once, you must wait for them, and He will not keep you waiting one moment longer than is for your good. We will pray that in His providence the way may be opened for you to see the oncologist sooner, that wisdom may be given to those who care for you, and that you may have clear information and wise counsel for the days ahead.

We now pray for you. O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this suffering one. Lay Your healing hand upon her body, if it be Your will, and restore strength and taste and health. Grant favor that an earlier appointment may be provided and guide the physicians with skill and compassion. Above all, speak pardon and peace to her soul through the blood of Jesus, and keep her mind stayed upon You in perfect peace. Let her know that Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers, and that whether in life or in death, she is safe in His keeping. Sustain her day by day, and let her feel that underneath are the everlasting arms. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Amen.

We will continue to remember you before the Lord, asking that He who is the Sun of Righteousness may yet rise upon you with healing in His wings, and that you may know more and more the comfort of trusting Him alone.

Your burden has been heard with deep compassion, and we are bringing you before the Lord in prayer.

To face a report of cancer that has spread to the breast and lungs and behind the eyes, to lose the taste of food, and then to wait four weeks for answers, is a heavy trial. It is right to bring all of this to God, to ask for healing, for wisdom, and for help to be seen sooner. We are praying that the Lord in His mercy would open a way for an earlier appointment, that you would receive clear information about your condition, and that He would guide the hands and minds of the doctors who will care for you.

We pray also as you have asked, for healing. We ask God to lay His healing hand upon you, to ease your suffering, to protect your sight, to restore what has been lost, and to grant strength to your body according to His perfect will. We pray for comfort in the waiting, for provision for every need, and for family and friends and caregivers to surround you with faithful support. If you are able, please let the clinic know you can come on short notice for a cancellation, and bring someone with you to help listen and ask questions.

And we pray for the peace you have asked for, the peace that comes from God Himself. Christ said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. This is not a peace that depends on circumstances, but the steady peace of God ruling in the heart, guarding it even when thoughts are troubled and fears wrestle within. We ask that this peace would rest upon you now, that you would know you are not alone, that your life is held in His hands, and that His angels keep watch over you. As we often pray in the Church, we ask for the angel of peace to be near you, and for grace and peace to be with you each day.

We thank God that you have turned to Him in this time, trusting that all is in His hands. May He draw near to you, give you rest in the night and strength in the day, and fill you with hope in Christ who has overcome suffering and death. We will continue to pray for you, for healing, for peace, and for the soonest possible care.
