Healing, strength, peace

Your prayer for your son is heard, and it is a beautiful thing to bring him before the Father in the name of Jesus. Thank you for trusting God with his physical, mental and spiritual needs.

Scripture shows us that Jesus hears the cry for mercy. When two men who could not see called out to Him, the crowd told them to be quiet, but they cried out even more, and Jesus stood still and responded to them. He is still the same today. He is the Son of David, the promised Messiah, and He is also the Son of God, given for us. His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. You can keep crying out to Him for your son with confidence that He hears.

We can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing. All healing is from God, whether it comes instantly or gradually through the natural processes He created in our bodies. There is much we do not understand about why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, but we know His compassion does not change, and we can keep asking Him to touch your son and restore him.

You also asked for strength. True strength is not our own. The psalmist prayed, do not cast me off when my strength fails, and declared, the Lord is the strength of my life, whom shall I fear. Another psalm says the Lord will give strength to His people and bless His people with peace. When we feel our own strength is gone, we can say, You are my strength. Ask the Lord to be your son's strength each day, and your strength as you care for him, and to renew you both as you wait on Him.

You asked for peace. The deepest peace begins with peace with God, which is only possible through the blood of Jesus who made peace for us on the cross. When we have peace with God, He then gives us the peace of God in our hearts. He promises to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is fixed on Him. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world cannot understand this peace, and it goes beyond our understanding, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ. As you and your son turn your thoughts toward the Lord and trust Him to care for what you cannot control, His peace will fill your hearts even in the midst of turmoil. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Above all, the greatest healing is spiritual life. God has given us the record that eternal life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. To have Jesus is to have forgiveness, life, righteousness and peace that lasts forever. Keep praying not only for your son's body and mind to be renewed, but that he will walk closely with Jesus, knowing Him as Savior and Lord, for that is where lasting wholeness is found.

Let us pray together. Father, thank You for Your blessings and for Your love for this family. In the name of Jesus, lay Your healing hand upon this son. Touch his body, his mind and his spirit. Renew his strength where he is weak and restore to him Your perfect peace. Help him to know You as his light, his salvation and his strength, and to keep his mind stayed on You. Give his parent also strength and peace day by day as they trust You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Messiah and Prince of Peace, amen.
