Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your prayer for your son. Your love for him and your desire for his healing and wholeness is beautiful, and it is good to bring him before the Father in the name of Jesus.
God wants you and your son to know real peace and strength. Scripture makes a distinction that helps us understand this. First we need peace with God, and that peace only comes through what Jesus Christ has done for us. Through His blood on the cross He made peace between us and God, ending the war that sin created. When we receive His forgiveness, the conflict is over and we are no longer running from God but belong to Him. Out of that restored relationship comes the peace of God, the quiet confidence that guards our hearts even when life around us is full of turmoil. Jesus described it as His own peace that He leaves with us, and elsewhere it is called a peace that goes beyond human understanding, a peace the world cannot explain.
That peace is kept alive as our minds stay fixed on Him. The promise is that God will keep in complete peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. In a world filled with chaos and striving, peace does not come from trying harder or figuring everything out, but from turning our thoughts toward the Lord and trusting that He will take care of what concerns us. As you keep looking to Him, and as you help your son to look to Him, that peace begins to fill the heart. It is the confidence that God is in control and that His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you hope. He has not forgotten you or your son.
The Lord also wants to be your strength. On our own our strength fails, and we can feel wiped out and without beauty or power in ourselves. But God promises to give strength to His people and to bless His people with peace. He is described as the strength of our lives, our light and our salvation, our shield. When we trust in Him we find that in Him there is everlasting strength, more than enough for each day. You do not have to find the strength within yourself. You can go in the strength of the Lord, asking Him each day to be your portion and your help. He hears and He lifts up those who call on Him.
You asked for healing physically, mentally and spiritually, and God cares about every part. He is a healer who restores body, mind and spirit. Sometimes His healing is immediate and sometimes it is gradual, step by step, and every true healing process comes from Him, because He created our bodies and the very processes by which we are restored. There is much we do not understand about why healing comes in different ways and at different times, but we can confidently trust that He is at work, bringing healing to wounds that are physical, emotional and spiritual, and making us whole.
May the Lord continue His healing work in your son in every way, renewing his strength and filling him with that deep, steady peace that comes from trusting in Jesus. May your own heart be kept in that perfect peace as you keep your mind on Him, trusting in His everlasting strength.
Father, we thank You for Your love and for the peace You have made through the blood of Jesus. We bring this son before You now and ask for Your healing touch upon his body, his mind and his spirit. Renew his strength and restore Your peace within him. Keep his mind and heart in Your perfect peace as he trusts in You, and keep this parent also in Your strength and peace day by day.
