Healing request

Your honest and hurting prayer has been heard, and I want to stand with you in it. To have lost so much and now to face the fear of a serious illness while waiting for test results is a heavy burden, and it is understandable that your heart is anxious with your birthday so near. Thank you for turning to Jesus in this moment and asking to be held under His hands.

The waiting itself is one of the hardest parts of faith. Scripture often calls us to wait upon God and upon His timing, with confidence that He is at work even when we cannot see it. Like a farmer who waits patiently for the harvest, we are called to establish our hearts and trust that God is not idle. This time between giving the sample and receiving the answer is a time to wait with hope, doing the works of faith which are simply to keep trusting, praying, and looking to Him.

Remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. When David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for You are with me, he was declaring that fear grows when we forget the Lord's presence, and faith grows when we remember it. Fear and faith cannot live together in the same place. When we fix our eyes on our situation and our problems, fear grips the heart and faith slips away. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, faith drives fear away. Satan often uses fear to move us in the wrong direction, but God invites us to remember Him, to know He is with you right now in this waiting room of uncertainty.

Jesus showed us what God is like when He is faced with suffering people. When great crowds came to Him, He did not turn them away even when He was weary. With tender compassion He healed the sick among them. The Gospels record so much of His healing work because it reveals His heart. He is not distant or out of reach. He is near, full of mercy, and He went about doing good and healing all kinds of sickness. The prophet spoke of Him as the Sun of Righteousness who would arise with healing in His wings, bringing light like the sunrise after a long night. That is the Jesus you are calling on, and He hears you.

It is also important to know that sickness is not a sign that you have failed God or lack faith. Even faithful servants in the Bible knew illness. Paul left a fellow worker behind because he was sick, and Paul himself spoke of his own infirmities. God does heal, and we should ask Him for healing with boldness, but we do not measure our standing with God by whether we are sick or well. And true healing is not a spectacle or a show. It is the quiet, sovereign work of God, done in harmony with His will and His wisdom, not a performance to draw attention to people.

You did what was wise and prudent in giving the sample for testing. God gives us wisdom to use the means He has provided, and we do so not out of fear but out of trust that He can work through those means and beyond them.

So I will pray for you in this way. I pray that the Lord Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our hope, will hold you firmly in His hands during these days of waiting. I pray that He will calm your fear and fill you with a strong confidence in His presence, that you will know you are not forgotten. I pray for mercy over your body, that if it is His will, the results would show nothing serious and that He would bring complete healing and restoration. And even as we ask for healing, I pray that whatever the result, you will experience His peace, His sustaining grace, and that your life would indeed become a testimony of His nearness and faithfulness. May you learn in a deeper way the reverent awe of God, which is the beginning of wisdom, to love what He loves and to rest in His power and goodness.

You are not alone while you wait. Keep your eyes on Jesus, remember that He is with you, and let your faith answer your fear. May the Lord grant you peace until you receive the results, and may your birthday be marked by His comfort and hope.
