Your prayer for your son has been brought before the Lord with sincere care, and we join you in lifting him up to the throne of grace.
We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, and how much more should we bring the sickness of body, mind and spirit to the great Physician of souls. Our Lord Jesus is that heavenly Physician, and Calvary is the place for the healing balm. He bore our sicknesses in His own flesh, and the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. That medicine is appointed for the very purpose of healing, and it grows for the sick. If you are sick at heart, you may freely come and partake, for it is placed there for the thirsty and the wounded.
We pray that the Sun of Righteousness would rise upon your son with healing in His wings, touching him physically, mentally and spiritually. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in Christ, for when Jesus said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, He showed that pardon and healing are one in Him. May your son know that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul, for there is no other foundation for peace than Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is perfect peace even in this dark world of sin.
We ask our Heavenly Father to protect him from harm and danger, both seen and unseen, and to surround him with His presence. True peace is not found by wandering from Christ, but by abiding in Him, for He Himself has said, that in Me you might have peace. May the Lord keep him in perfect peace as his mind is stayed upon Him, and grant him that serene repose which is found only in the person of Christ. May that peace guard his heart and mind, and may the Lord make His presence a refuge about him day and night.
We thank the Father for all He has done and for His goodness to the children of men, and we trust Him to do what is for your son's present happiness and eternal welfare. We leave him in the hands of Him who is on the throne, who hears the cry of a bleeding spirit and gives a word in season to the weary.
We pray this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace, Amen.
