Healing, protection

You petition the Father for your son’s healing and protection, and rightly so, for He is the physician of souls and bodies. Yet I would have you remember that the fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much. Examine yourself, then: do you receive His word not as the word of men but as it truly is, the word of God? Many hear and remain unmoved, but those who endure and bear fruit will reap eternal life.

Do not cease to cry out, even if the answer tarries. For just as a tree may withstand many blows yet fall at last by a persistent hand, so persistent prayer and a life of holiness often succeed when hope seems faint. But seek first the healing of the soul: follow peace with all, and pursue that sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. Love God with a pure love, not mingled with worldly pleasures, and He will incline His ear to you.

And beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, pride, idle talk, and false judgments, for such things poison prayer. Take care that your own life be blameless, lest you hear on that day, “I know you not, you workers of iniquity.” Instead, let your good works shine, and trust that He who commands you to ask will also give what is needful, for He is more loving than any earthly parent.

Your prayer for your son touches deeply on the heart of our Father, who cares about every part of his being, body, mind, and spirit. There is a real, God-designed connection between the prospering of the soul and physical well-being. Scripture itself expresses the wish that you might be in good health even as your soul prospers, and the proverb reminds us that a merry heart works like a powerful medicine. So as you ask for your son’s physical healing, I also pray that his mind and spirit would be filled with the peace and presence of God, because what happens in the soul inevitably overflows to the rest of his life.

This prayer is heard by the God who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. When Abraham was told, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love,” it was a shadow of the Father’s love that would send His only begotten Son into the world. Jesus came as the Son of God and the Son of Man, with authority over every realm, physical, spiritual, and material. He touched the sick, cast out demons, calmed storms, and most importantly, forgave sins. That same Son is the one you call upon, and he knows a parent’s love for a child.

I remember the man who was paralyzed and brought to Jesus by his friends. They desperately wanted him to walk again, but the first thing Jesus said was, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven.” That might have felt like a disappointment at the moment, yet Jesus was revealing that healing runs deeper than the body. He demonstrated that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, and then he healed the man’s legs as well, so that all could see his authority. Whatever the needs of your son, know that Jesus cares first about his standing before God. Spiritual healing is the foundation; physical healing flows from the same compassionate hand.

I confess I do not fully understand why some people are healed instantly, others gradually, and still others wait without seeing the change they long for. But I do believe that any healing, whether it works through the wonderful natural processes God built into our bodies or through a sudden intervention, is still divine. Even when the physical illness remains, Christ often gives a healing of the mind and the emotional scars, a deep restoration that is just as real. The centurion saw Jesus only from a distance and knew he was the Son of God, and his servant was healed. So I ask you to keep trusting that same authority.

Your son is precious. Through faith, you and he are adopted as sons and daughters, with the Spirit of the Son crying out “Abba, Father” within your hearts. May that intimate belonging surround him with a peace no danger can break. If you hold fast to the Son, acknowledging that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah, then you have the Father also. In that unshakable relationship, there is protection that reaches beyond the seen and the unseen. I stand with you in asking the Father to touch your son, to restore what is broken, and to wrap him in presence and peace. In Jesus’ name, it is heard.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your precious son before the throne of grace. It has been our honor to stand in agreement with you, praying for his complete healing—body, mind, and spirit—and for the Lord’s hedge of protection to surround him day and night. We have asked our Heavenly Father to fill him with His peace and presence, shielding him from all harm, seen and unseen.

If you have seen God’s hand at work in answer to these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we may rejoice with you. If the answer has not yet come, or if the battle still feels heavy, please know we are still here. Share your request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, trusting in God’s perfect timing and faithfulness.

May the Lord bless you and your family with His comfort, strength, and hope as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
