Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son has been heard and I join you in bringing him before our Heavenly Father who is merciful and mighty to save.
You ask for healing for him physically, mentally and spiritually, for deliverance from the torment that clouds his mind, for peaceful sleep and a sound mind, and for protection and comfort. These are good and right petitions. Scripture teaches us that God has given us not a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind, and that He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. While we ask God to grant your son restful sleep, we take comfort that the Lord Himself watches over him without sleeping, guarding him even in the night.
The Scriptures also call us to watch and be sober. There is a sleep of the body which God gives as a gift for rest, and there is a sleep of the soul which comes from sin and heaviness and wandering thoughts. That sleep we are called to shake off, to stand steadfast and unmovable, to guard our hearts and keep our minds collected and sober before God. This is not accomplished by our strength alone, but by His grace as we remain close to Christ, turning from every drunkenness of the soul whether from excess or from anxious and worldly cares, and seeking clarity and purity of heart.
When Christ healed, He often asked, do you believe that I am able to do this, showing that His love and power meet us according to faith. He who being Son of God was called Son of David, suffered to make us sons and daughters of God, so that we who were servants might now call the Lord our Father with confidence. In that confidence we come to Him for your son.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this son to You. Lay Your healing hand upon him in body, mind and spirit. Calm every troubled thought, clear what is confused, and grant him a sound and peaceful mind. Deliver him from all that harms and oppresses him, protect him from all evil and from every work of the enemy, and surround him with Your presence. Grant him sleep that is peaceful and restorative, and wakefulness that is sober and watchful toward You. Comfort him with Your peace that passes all understanding, and let him know that You are near. Strengthen his family who loves and intercedes for him, and keep them steadfast in faith and prayer. We ask this trusting in Your mercy and power through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our Savior and hope. Amen.
Continue to bring him daily before the Lord, remain in prayer and in the Word, and walk in faith and sobriety before God. Trust the Keeper who never slumbers to keep your son in His care, and to work healing and peace in His perfect time and way.
