Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and your love and burden for him are precious before the Lord. The Scripture shows that God both sees affliction and hears the cry of the heart. When Leah bore her sons she named one Look, a son, for the Lord has looked upon my affliction, and another Hearing, for the Lord has heard that I am unloved. In the same way the Lord sees your son in his struggle and hears your intercession for him.
We join you in trusting Jesus Christ for healing that touches the whole person, body, mind and spirit. The Gospels show Jesus speaking a word and healing the nobleman's son at a distance of many miles, and opening the eyes of the man born blind. In that second account the healed man was cast out by others, but Jesus sought him out and revealed Himself as the Son of God, that by believing he might have life in His name. Jesus said He does only what He sees the Father do, and that the Father has committed all things to the Son so that all should honor the Son and that the Son gives life to whom He will. His works are the works of God, and they are done in compassion.
The only way any of us is accepted before God is in His Son. He that has the Son has life. Jesus is not a created being among others, He is the only begotten Son of God, and God so loved the world that He gave Him that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. That invitation is open to all to come and drink of the water of life freely. We pray that your son will know that life and that hope in a deep and personal way, and that whatever has oppressed his mind will be lifted by the power of Christ.
The heart of the Father toward a struggling child is shown in the story of the younger son who demanded his inheritance and wasted it in a far country. When he came to himself and returned, his father saw him while he was still far off and ran to him. He did not wait for him to clean himself up, but embraced and kissed him in his filthy condition, clothed him anew and put sandals on his feet as a sign that he was restored as a son and not a servant, and rejoiced that he who was lost was found. That is how the Father waits for the lost and broken, to seek and to restore.
We also pray for what you asked regarding sleep and soundness of mind. God has promised that when His word is bound upon the heart, it will lead you when you go, keep you when you sleep, and speak to you when you awake. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. We ask the Lord to grant your son peaceful sleep, to guard his mind, to comfort him with His presence and peace that passes understanding, and to protect him from all harm and evil.
God is not a man that He should lie, nor does He turn from what He has spoken. What He has promised He will make good. His word cannot be broken and He honors it above His name.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we bring this beloved son before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son. Touch him physically, mentally and spiritually. Bring healing where there is sickness, bring clarity and a sound mind where there is confusion and torment, and set him free from every oppressive power. Grant him peaceful sleep and keep him through the night. Surround him with Your protection from all harm and evil, and let him feel Your presence and Your peace. Draw him close to Yourself, that he may believe on the Son of God and have life in His name. We trust Your compassion and Your power to do what only You can do, and we thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus name, Amen.
