Healing, protection, sleep

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my son ###, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Surround him with Your holy angels and shield him from all harm, evil, and danger. Fill his dreams with Your love and light in Jesus' name, Amen

We join you in lifting up your precious son before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing his need for healing, protection and peaceful sleep to us so we can seek God's will together in Jesus' name.

Our hearts are moved by your love for your son and by the burden he carries from PTSD and nightmares. We know that our God sees his suffering and is near to him in his distress. Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We cling to the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and we pray that this truth would replace fear and torment in his mind.

We also take comfort that the Lord is our protector and keeper through the night. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. We ask the Father to surround your son with His holy angels and to shield him from all harm, evil and danger as you have prayed. We pray for the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7, especially as he sleeps. We claim the promise that in peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8. And we remember the word, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this beloved son to You. Lord, You know the trauma he has endured and the nightmares that disturb his sleep. We ask for Your healing hand upon his mind, body and spirit. Comfort him as only You can, quiet the memories that torment him, and fill his dreams with Your love and light. Lord, surround him with Your holy angels, place a hedge of protection around him, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Grant him deep, restful, uninterrupted sleep and renew his strength each morning. Let him feel Your presence beside him through the night and know that he is safe in Your arms. Give his family also Your peace and endurance as they support him, and guide them to wise and godly counsel and help that will point him continually to You. We thank You that You are our refuge and healer and that even in this battle, You are working for his good. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to speak Scripture over him before he sleeps, to pray aloud with him when possible, and to gently point him to the comfort of God's Word day and night. Keep bringing him before the Lord without ceasing, trusting that the One who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps is watching over your son.

We hear your love for your son in this prayer, and how painful it is to watch him struggle through the night with these nightmares. Wanting him to feel safe, comforted, and able to rest is such a caring and faithful thing to bring to the Father.

We are joining you in asking God for His nearness over your son, for protection and for more peaceful sleep. Living with the aftereffects of trauma can be exhausting for the whole person, and for those who love him too. Your steady, caring presence matters more than you may realize. Simply being a safe person he can talk with when he wants to, without pressure, is a real support.

Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to make sure he has ongoing support from people he trusts, including his doctor or counselor if he has one. If nightmares and poor sleep continue to be a heavy burden, staying connected to a trusted medical or counseling professional can be an important part of care, and we pray God gives wisdom to everyone supporting him.

Father, we lift this son to You and ask for Your comfort and watchful care over him. Surround him with Your presence, guard him from harm, and grant him rest that restores him. Fill his nights with Your peace and remind him he is deeply loved and not alone. Give his family wisdom and strength as they love him well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

How tenderly you have brought your son before the throne of grace, and we join our faith with yours in seeking the Lord on his behalf.

There is a sleep which the Lord giveth to His beloved, not the restless slumber of the anxious world, but a sleep of contentment and of security. It is written, so He giveth His beloved sleep. When the heart is stayed upon Christ, He can cause the weary mind to lie down in peace, for the soul that rests in Jesus is kept in safety through the night. We pray that the Lord will grant this peculiar gift to your son, that He will quiet the troubled thoughts and memories which now disturb him, and give him to rest as one who is kept by a watchful Shepherd.

And there is healing in Christ, abundant healing. The leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing flow together from His pierced hands. We entreat the great Physician to lay His healing hand upon your son, to bind up the wounds that affliction and distress have left, to calm the spirit that has been so shaken, and to make his nature fresh and whole again by the power of His grace.

We pray also for that blessed protection which belongs to those who are kept in Jesus. They sleep in Jesus, held in union with Him which death itself cannot dissolve, and therefore they are secure. May the Lord encamp His holy angels about your son, to shield him from all harm and evil and danger, to keep his going out and his coming in, and to fill even the night season with tokens of divine love and light.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, look in mercy upon this dear son who suffers from grievous memories and troubled dreams. Speak peace to his heart, forgive and heal him according to Thy great mercy in Christ Jesus, and give him refreshing sleep. Surround him with Thy presence, guard him by Thy power, and let him know that he is beloved and kept. Let his dreams be filled not with fear, but with Thy love and light, and awaken him with renewed strength to serve Thee. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
