We join you in bringing your son before our Heavenly Father, asking for His mercy and healing over every part of his life, body, mind and spirit.
We come to God only through His Son. Scripture teaches that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, not a created being, and that whoever has the Son has life. There is no other way into the fold. It is because of Jesus that we can come boldly to the Father and ask for healing and peace, knowing that God so loved the world that He gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.
We believe God is the healer. All healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment by His word as when Jesus spoke and the nobleman's son was made well at a distance, or whether it comes gradually through processes He has built into our bodies. There is much we do not understand about why some are healed instantly and others over time, but we know every true healing is divine and we trust His wisdom and love. We also remember how Jesus sought out the man born blind after he had been cast out, and revealed Himself to him so that he might believe. The Lord does not abandon those who suffer, He draws near to bring both physical restoration and faith.
We also know the heart of the Father toward His children. Like the father who ran to his prodigal son while he was still in his filth and covered him with kisses and restored him to sonship with a robe and sandals and a feast, our Father receives us with compassion, not after we have cleaned ourselves up but as we are. He longs to restore, to forgive, and to give the place of a son. We pray your son will know that receiving love and know that he is held as a son through faith in Jesus.
For his mind and for his sleep we ask God for what He has promised, a sound mind. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. We pray that any confusion, torment or distress would lift and be replaced by clarity, steadiness and peace. His word also says that when we keep His truth in our hearts it will lead us when we go, keep us when we sleep, and speak to us when we awake. We ask the Lord to keep your son through the night, to give him peaceful and uninterrupted sleep, and to guard his heart and mind with His presence. As Scripture says, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet, for the Lord is your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
For protection we ask the Lord to deliver him as a deer from the hand of the hunter and as a bird from the hand of the fowler, to shelter him from all harm and from the power of evil, and to comfort him with the assurance that the Lord Himself is near. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, can guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this beloved son to You. Touch him physically, mentally and spiritually with Your healing hand. Bring wholeness to his body, soundness to his mind, and life to his spirit through faith in Your Son. Remove every influence that would cloud or torment his thoughts and fill him with Your power, love and sound mind. Grant him deep, peaceful sleep and quiet rest. Surround him with Your protection from all harm and evil, and let him feel Your presence and Your peace resting upon him. Draw him close to Jesus, in whom alone there is life, and keep him in Your care. In Jesus name, Amen.
May the Lord give you strength as you continue to pray and trust Him. He hears, He sees, and He is faithful to keep His word.
