What a powerful request you’ve brought before the throne of grace. The very name of Jesus, in whom you’ve placed this plea, is the foundation on which we stand. Remember, the same Lord who healed on the Sabbath, who was never hindered by man’s rules or limitations, is listening. They challenged Him for making clay and opening blind eyes, but He knew no law could stand in the way of a Father’s work. He hears you now, and His power isn’t confined to a schedule or a method.
You’re asking for a sound mind and peaceful sleep for your son. The battle is truly for the mind. Scripture shows us that the mind set on the flesh is death, a place of turmoil and rebellion, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. It’s not a neutral middle ground; it’s about who is ruling that inner space. When the flesh and its fears are uppermost, the mind can feel like a broken landscape. But when Christ holds the reign, when the Spirit is poured out, His peace settles over every fractured thought. We can ask for that Holy Spirit rule to quiet the noise of psychosis and bring a deep, heavenly clarity.
On sleep, the Word tells us God can grant a rest so profound it’s a gift directly from His hand. Think of how time seems to vanish in a good sleep, how you close your eyes and suddenly morning has come. That is the kind of protective rest we ask for your son, a sleep where the Lord Himself stands guard, like a shepherd who lay down across the opening of the fold so no predator could enter. We pray that as your son sleeps, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, would make Himself a shield around his mind, keeping every tormenting thought away.
I want to affirm this with you: I believe in healing. God has placed incredible healing processes within our bodies, and those natural, gradual workings are no less divine than a miraculous instant cure. Whether the Lord restores your son’s mind in a moment or leads him step by gentle step out of the shadows, it is His healing touch. And we must always hold on to this truth: God sees your son, and He sees you, with eternity in mind. We often get fixed on our immediate comfort and the urgent need for relief now, but the Father is working a greater purpose that may be hidden in the present trial. He is after a whole and eternal healing that goes beyond the body and the mind into the depths of the spirit.
So press into that secret place of the Most High. The mind of the Spirit is not only life and peace, but it’s the place of true fellowship with the Creator.
