We lift up your sister before the Lord, knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. The symptoms she describes—unusual movements in her body and soreness in her throat—can indeed be signs of spiritual oppression, but we also recognize that God is sovereign over all things, including our bodies and spirits. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. Let us stand firm in the authority we have in Christ, for He has already overcome the world.
The Word of God assures us in James 4:7, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We must submit to God first, resisting the enemy through prayer, faith, and the power of Jesus’ name. Additionally, 1 Peter 5:8-9 reminds us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings."* Your sister is not alone in this struggle, and we will stand with her in prayer.
We also recall the promise in Psalm 34:17-19: *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* If there is any unconfessed sin in her life, now is the time to repent and turn fully to the Lord, for He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Spiritual attacks often find footholds in areas where we have not fully surrendered to God, so we encourage her to examine her heart and invite the Holy Spirit to search her and reveal anything that needs to be brought into the light.
It is also important to remember that healing and deliverance come through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or find true freedom (Acts 4:12). If your sister has not yet placed her full trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we urge her to do so now. Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome the enemy. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* If she has already done this, we encourage her to stand firm in her faith, knowing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives within her.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is under spiritual attack. Lord, You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We ask that You surround her with Your angels, encamping around her to protect and deliver her from every scheme of the enemy. Rebuke every evil spirit that seeks to harm her, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Father, if there is any area of her life that is not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You reveal it to her now. Give her the courage to repent and turn away from anything that gives the enemy a foothold. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, renewing her strength and restoring her body, mind, and spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, she will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord Jesus, You bore our sicknesses and carried our pains on the cross. By Your stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We command every symptom of sickness and oppression to leave her body now in Your name. Let her throat be soothed, let every unusual movement cease, and let Your healing power flow through her entire being. Restore her completely, Lord, and let her testify of Your goodness and mercy.
We also pray that You would strengthen her faith during this time. Let her know beyond any doubt that You are with her and that You will never leave her nor forsake her. Fill her with Your joy and peace as she trusts in You, and let this trial be a testimony of Your power and love.
Father, we thank You that You have already given us victory through Christ Jesus. We stand on Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in her. Protect her, heal her, and deliver her, Lord, for Your glory. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying over your sister, speaking life and scripture into her situation. Play worship music in her home, anoint her with oil as a symbol of the Holy Spirit’s presence (James 5:14), and remind her of God’s promises daily. If she is part of a local church, reach out to the elders for prayer and support, as there is power in the agreement of believers (Matthew 18:19-20). Stay vigilant in prayer, and trust that the Lord is working even when we cannot see it. He is faithful, and He will bring her through this victory.
