healing prayer

You ask healing for your children. That is a good request, a natural cry of a parent's heart. Yet consider the posture of prayer. When the three children were in the furnace, they did not first demand deliverance. They cried out, "We have sinned, we have committed iniquity." After so many achievements, after the miracle in the den, Daniel accounted himself nothing, saying God had remembered him. Everywhere they show their humility. The true widow trusts in God as she ought, continuing instant in prayer night and day, finding in Him the consolation that fills every need. She is not worse for her affliction, for He is in the place of all.

Do not let your heart grow cold through this trial, for the love of many waxes cold when iniquity abounds, and some become without natural affection, more ferocious than beasts. But you are not of that number; you come pleading for your children. Therefore arm yourself. Every single day the rocks are many, and the boat often strikes and is sunk. We need prayer early and by night. It is a great weapon. Go forth to this fight with much security if you have first made God propitious by supplication.

And what is our boldness? Not our own worth, for we are unprofitable servants. But God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba, Father." It is the Highest Essence that bestows this gift and bears witness by the very words we use in prayer. When the Spirit bears witness, what place for doubt? So run to Him. May He who is the Father of the fatherless minister to your children according to the need of their flesh and the salvation of their souls. Sometimes the cure comes not at the first ten strokes, but afterward all at once. Persist, then, in the healing treatment of prayer, and may you all obtain the everlasting blessings.

I join you in fervent prayer for your children and the healing of this genetic disorder. Right now, I’m bringing them before the Lord with you.

I don’t fully understand why some healings come instantly while others unfold over time, or why some bodies remain frail. If I were the one making those decisions, I imagine I’d do it all differently. But I’m not God, and my understanding is so small. What I hold onto is that every genuine step toward wholeness, whether in body, mind, or spirit, comes from His hand.

Think of the one gradual healing recorded in Jesus’ ministry. A blind man needed a second touch to see clearly. The Master could have spoken a single word, yet He chose a process. That tells me we shouldn’t lose heart when we don’t see an immediate fix. A healing that unfolds slowly is no less divine. Sometimes God mends the deeper parts first, soothing fears, quieting anxious thoughts, restoring hope, and the physical restoration follows later, or perhaps in a way we didn’t expect. I’ve seen families where the emotional and spiritual scars that came wrapped up with a disorder were healed, and that itself was a profound work of God.

Your children carry a legacy you didn’t choose for them. We live in a broken creation where weakness and disease can travel down family lines. It’s a heavy weight. But remember that God’s purpose isn’t stopped by biological limits. He once asked Moses, “Who made the human mouth? Who makes the mute or the deaf, the seeing or the blind?” Moses had his own physical struggle, something that felt disabling, yet God used him mightily. Whatever the origin of this disorder, it doesn’t remove your children from the Lord’s plans or His tenderness.

I love the faith of children. When I’m in need, I ask little ones to pray for me, because their trust is so straight and sure. Even now, let your children hear you pray over them with that same simple confidence. Let them ask Jesus to touch their bodies, just as they would ask a loving father for bread. There’s a beauty in that childlike faith that often opens doors we adults complicate with our worries and unbelief. Don’t let doubt fence in what God wants to do.

And as you pray, cry out to Him. The Scriptures tell story after story of God’s people oppressed for years until they lifted their voices in desperation. He hears the cry of a parent’s heart. You’re not merely asking for a biological repair; you’re entrusting these little ones to the One who knows every cell, every future moment, and every purpose He has for them. Whether He brings a swift change, a gradual improvement, or a different kind of victory where their spirits shine undimmed, He is at work.

May you see His hand in their lives in tangible ways. May any partial improvement remind you that the Great Physician hasn’t forgotten. And may your own heart be steadied with peace that surpasses understanding, even as you wait. I stand with you in this petition. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your precious children. It has been our heart’s desire to lift them before the Lord, asking Him to touch their bodies with His healing power and intervene in the genetic disorder they face. We have prayed in faith, believing that God’s Word is true when it declares that by His stripes, we are healed, and that Jesus bore our sicknesses and infirmities on the cross.

If you have seen God’s healing hand move in their lives—whether through a miraculous touch, a doctor’s confirmation of improvement, or even a peace that surpasses understanding—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share it with us so we can rejoice together and give God all the glory.

If, however, the answer hasn’t yet manifested in the way you’ve hoped, we encourage you to post this request again. We will continue to stand in agreement with you, lifting your children before the throne of grace, trusting that God hears and answers the cries of His people. Let us not grow weary in prayer, for His timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours.

May the Lord strengthen your faith as you continue to seek Him on behalf of your children. May He fill you with hope, comfort you with His presence, and remind you that He is a Father who loves them even more than you do. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
