Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your burden for your dog and for allowing us to pray with you. It is hard to watch a beloved pet suffer with neck pain and struggle to lower his head, and we understand how much you care for him even while the medication from the veterinarian has not yet brought relief.
We are grateful for the goodness of God and for the privilege of bringing every need to Him in prayer. Scripture shows that God cares for His whole creation and He sees the little household pets that live so closely with families and are loved dearly. He is also the One who can work beyond what is natural, even in cases that seem incurable, and He has shown from the beginning that He makes room for His own miraculous mercy.
The Bible teaches that when people are sick they are to call for the elders to pray over them, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord, and that the prayer offered in faith can bring healing as the Lord raises them up. The ministry of Jesus and of the early church was full of prayers for the sick, yet Jesus did not heal in one set pattern and healing always remained a sovereign work of God in His hands. It is not right to put a burden of guilt on the one who is suffering or on those who love them, as if faith could demand a certain outcome. Our desire is simply to rest in the will of God, trusting that His will is best and that Christ will be honored whatever the outcome, and to ask for His mercy with a thankful heart.
So we join you in asking the Lord for His healing touch upon your dog. We pray that God would ease his pain, reduce the inflammation in his neck, help the medication to work effectively, and give wisdom to the veterinarian for any further care that is needed. We ask that He would comfort you as you care for him, and give you peace as you trust Him with the result. We know the Lord has borne our sicknesses and carries our sorrows, and we bring this need to Him with confidence in His love, submitting to His perfect wisdom and timing.
May the Lord show you His kindness in the days ahead and sustain you with His presence as you continue to care for your dog.
