Healing of Husband-Shingles

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband who is suffering from shingles. This painful condition is a reminder of the fallen world we live in, but we know that our God is a healer and restorer. We stand in agreement with you, believing that by the stripes of Jesus, your husband is healed (Isaiah 53:5). The Word of God declares that He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20). We claim this promise over your husband’s life, declaring that the shingles, pain, and all traces of this affliction leave his body immediately and completely, never to return.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we rebuke this sickness and command it to flee. We speak life and health over every cell, nerve, and tissue in his body. Your Word says that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15). We pray for complete restoration, that his strength would be renewed like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We also ask for Your peace to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), knowing that anxiety and stress can hinder healing. May he rest in Your promises and trust in Your goodness.

We encourage you both to continue standing on God’s Word, speaking healing over his body, and refusing to accept anything less than what God has promised. Keep your faith anchored in Scripture, and do not grow weary in praying and believing. The enemy may try to bring doubt, but we resist him with the truth of God’s Word (James 4:7). We also pray for wisdom for his healthcare providers, that they would be guided by Your hand in any treatment or care he receives.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. We trust that You are working even now to bring healing and relief to our brother in Christ. May Your name be glorified in his life, and may he testify of Your healing power to others. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We are joining you in prayer for your husband right now. It is hard to watch someone you love suffer, and we hear the urgency in your request for his complete healing. Thank you for letting us stand with you.

While we lift him to the Lord, we also want to gently encourage you, if you have not already, to be sure he is under a doctor’s care. Shingles can be serious, and God often works through medical wisdom and treatment as part of His provision. A physician can help manage pain and watch for complications, and that practical step does not take away from our trust in God’s power, it can walk together with it.

One of our own pastors once came down with shingles, and it was a hard week. His congregation gathered around him, anointed him with oil, and prayed. Within days, the pain was gone and the blisters cleared. We don't always see such swift healing, but that moment reminded us that God is present in our physical struggles and that He acts through the prayers of His people. So we are asking boldly alongside you.

Lord Jesus, we lift this husband to You. Please bring relief from pain, clear every trace of this virus from his body, and restore his strength. Give him rest and comfort while he recovers. Grant his wife peace and steady hope as she cares for him. Guide any medical providers and give them wisdom. We ask for full and lasting healing, in Your name, amen.

The request for your husband's healing is laid upon the heart of the church, and we unite with you in prayer that every trace of this affliction may depart. Our hope is fixed on that great Physician whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue; His touch, His word, the hem of His garment, all overflow with power to make whole. We bring your husband before the throne, pleading the promise that the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings.

Yet we do well to remember that pardon and healing are often placed in happy conjunction. When our Lord healed the palsied man, He first declared, "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee." That same forgiveness is the sweet balm which quiets the conscience even while the body aches. If your husband has tasted this grace, then the chief healing is already his, and the restoration of the flesh will follow in the Lord's own time and way. Our heavenly Physician does not always lift the fever at once; sometimes He strengthens us by degrees, so that each day's returning health becomes a new call to gratitude.

As you watch with him, consider that God is a Husband to His people with a faithfulness far beyond any earthly bond. He communes with us lovingly, He provides, He cares, and He never neglects His own. If He has become a Husband to you, then you may cast the whole burden of this illness upon Him, confident that He will not fail you. Plead His promises; beseech Him as the disciples did for Peter's mother, and do not cease till He takes your husband by the hand and lifts him up. Establish that blessed contact with Christ, for in Him is life and healing.

We pray with you that the pain, the rash, and all its marks leave immediately and for good. But if the Lord sees fit that recovery should be slow, wonder not, but acknowledge each small improvement as a token of His tender hand. The healing leaves change the very lifeblood and make the nature other than it was before; so may this trial work in your husband a deeper union with the Saviour, and a sweeter peace. May you both soon rejoice in strength restored, in health renewed, and in a fresh reason to praise the God who heals all our diseases.

We lift up your husband’s suffering to the Physician of souls and bodies, and we join our prayers to yours that every trace of this affliction leave him at once. God is able to heal in an instant, and we ask this with full confidence in His mercy. Yet even as you seek this bodily cure, do not neglect the medicine of the soul. The true health of a household flows from the order God established from the beginning, the husband as the head, the wife as his willing helper, submitting in gentleness and propriety.

I do not say this to burden you, but to remind you that the sweetest relief for a husband’s pain is a wife whose adornment is not outward display but a meek and quiet spirit. No sickness wages war so fiercely as the hidden wounds of a disordered marriage, and no remedy brings swifter peace than a wife’s chaste conduct and submissive love. As you entreat the Lord to drive away this bodily scourge, let your own heart be a dwelling of virtue, forbearance, and patience. Then, even in this trial, you become a warrior, and your works a weapon, wounding the adversary who seeks to weaken both body and soul.

Stand watchful, lest the deceiver, who presents sin under a show of devotion, gain ground while your eyes are fixed only on the flesh. We ask that the Lord raise up your husband speedily, so that together, in the ordered peace of a godly marriage, you may both serve as a living testimony to His healing power. We shall continue to dress these wounds with prayer, trusting that if you rouse yourselves to this warfare, the affliction will flee, and your household will stand firm.
