Healing of family hatred

We have heard your burden for healing from family hatred and your desire for reconciliation and forgiveness among you and your family members and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord together in Jesus name.

The hatred and division you describe grieves the heart of God and we must speak plainly that hatred within a family is sin before Him. Scripture warns us in 1 John 4:20 If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen. And also in 1 John 3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer. God calls us to put away all bitterness and malice and to walk in love. We are told in Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness is not optional for the believer, for Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. We encourage you each to humbly examine your own hearts first, to confess any bitterness, harsh words or unforgiveness to the Lord, and then to seek one another in gentleness and humility to confess and to forgive as Christ has forgiven us as we read in Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. True reconciliation will require honesty, repentance and a commitment to love that covers a multitude of sins as in 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins. And as much as it depends on you pursue peace as it says in Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and have reconciliation with Him and with one another. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We have all sinned and need forgiveness through His shed blood on the cross and His resurrection, and when we put our faith in Jesus we receive a new heart that is able to forgive and to love even those who have hurt us.

We pray together now for you and your family. Father in heaven we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and we lift up this family that is wounded by hatred and division. Lord we confess that hatred and unforgiveness are sin and we ask You to forgive each one and to cleanse each heart. Pour out Your Holy Spirit and soften hearts that have grown hard. Help each one to humble themselves, to confess their part, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to turn from bitterness to tenderhearted kindness. Heal the memories and the hurts, restore what the enemy has tried to destroy, and teach them to love one another with Your agape love that is patient and kind. Give them courage to speak in love, to listen with grace, and to pursue peace. Let Your reconciliation through the cross be the model and the power for their reconciliation with one another. We ask that You would be glorified in this family as hatred is replaced with love and as they walk together in unity. In Jesus name we pray.

We hear how heavy this has been carrying hatred inside your own family. Wanting to forgive and love again when there has been hurt takes real courage, and we are grateful you brought this to the Lord and to us.

One thing that has helped others in this place is understanding that forgiveness and reconciliation are not exactly the same. Forgiveness can begin as a quiet decision in your own heart to release the need for payback and to wish the other person well, even while the hurt feelings are still healing. That emotional healing often comes more slowly, as you have time and space and honest prayer. Reconciliation is the rebuilding of trust and relationship, and that does take both people being willing to move toward each other.

It may help to start small and steady. You might ask the Lord to show you one next step toward one family member, perhaps a brief, kind conversation or asking a trusted pastor or mature believer you both respect to sit with you if a face to face talk feels too hard alone. You do not have to fix everything at once.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus name. Soften each heart where there has been hardness and heal where there has been wounding. Give our friend wisdom for what to say and when to be quiet, courage to take the next faithful step, and peace as they trust You with what they cannot control. Lead them toward love and restoration in Your way and timing. Amen.

Prayer is love and protection. May we acknowledge God's love for us today by turning ourselves towards him. His holiness and righteousness. And the fear of him if we do evil and tirn away but let us do good and submit. Lord Yeshuas name amen.

Forgive is love,

If you have forgiven them, you love them.

Love is patient, it does not envy, it does not boast, love is kind, it is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. I strive to love all. I want to love all. But it gets hard sometimes I know, trust in Jesus Christ the Lord to help you forgive and act this way if you don't already,

I am praying for this in Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is forgiveness with God, and it is to that forgiveness you and your loved ones must first look if hatred is to be healed and love is to reign in your family. Your prayer is a right and holy one, for the Christian religion is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred, and the spirit of Christ wherever He governs makes love to reign as a necessary consequence.

You ask for reconciliation, and you do well to see that it must begin with forgiveness. Hear the word of the Lord, "There is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared." Psalm 130:4. This forgiveness is not of man but divine, "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions." It is surprising forgiveness, complete forgiveness, eternal forgiveness, and it is to be had only through Jesus Christ the Son of God who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. If you have felt the hardness of your own heart and the sinfulness that has helped to kindle this family strife, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, as a repenting and believing sinner. The tally is destroyed, the record of debt is nailed to the Cross, and the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

And having received such forgiveness, you are called to exercise it. The Scripture saith, "Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32. It is a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, and members of a family should take large shares in this concern. You have no right to excrete your hatred upon any creature, however much you may have been irritated or injured in estate or reputation. Hatred is a power of manhood to be exercised as in the fear of God, but its proper object is evil itself. Thou hast good reason to hate all evil, for consider what evil has already done to thy heart and to thy house, what a world of mischief sin has brought into thy family. Hate the sin, but love the sinner, and show your hatred to evil by active efforts to put it down with love, with meekness, with the Word of God spoken in truth.

Take comfort that healing follows forgiveness. When the palsied man lay before Jesus, He said first, "Man, thy sins are forgiven thee," and afterwards, "Arise and walk." First forgiveness, then healing. So it shall be with you. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His very leaves, His gentlest words and touches, change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Where He forgives, He also heals.

I will pray with you and for you, that the Lord will work this gracious order in your household. May the Lord reveal to each of you your need of His pardoning mercy through Christ alone, and having tasted that mercy, may He soften your hearts toward one another, take away all bitterness and wrath, and knit you together in tender affection. May He grant you grace to confess faults one to another, to forgive freely and fully as you have been forgiven, and to love one another with a pure heart fervently, to the glory of His name.

Your desire to see hatred healed and to be reconciled in forgiveness and love is itself a work of God's grace in your heart, and it is pleasing to Him.

Scripture teaches that we were once enemies and alienated in our minds by evil works, yet God in His mercy reconciled us to Himself through the death of His Son, not because we were worthy, but while we were unworthy and far off. He who was hated and at enmity has been made a son and counted worthy of forgiveness and adoption. Having received so great a forgiveness, how can we withhold it from one another.

For this reason, reconciliation is both a gift from God and a duty He requires of us. He saves those who were enemies in order to make them friends who continue as His friends. It is not enough to hear of forgiveness, we must also walk in it. If we return again to enmity and contempt after tasting His goodness, we show that we have not held fast to His mercy. But when we turn toward the true light He has shown us, He gives us eyes to see and hearts made sound to love.

So I pray for you and for your family, that the Lord who reconciles enemies will do a deep work among you.

I pray that God will soften every hardened heart, take away anger and contempt, and grant each of you repentance and humility to confess where you have sinned against one another. I pray that He will help you to forgive as you have been forgiven, not from constraint alone but from a willing love, and to bear with one another in patience. I pray that He will heal the wounds that have caused this hatred, replace bitterness with kindness, and teach you to love one another with a sincere and steadfast love. May He guard you from returning to the darkness of strife, and may He establish your home in peace, so that you may be presented holy and without blemish before Him, and that your love for one another may bear witness to His love for you.

Continue to seek Him together in prayer, to speak truth with gentleness, and to be quick to forgive. Where virtue is pursued, the world may still bring trouble, but within the household of faith, love must prevail. Trust that He who began this desire for reconciliation in you is able to complete it.

May the God of peace, who reconciled us to Himself in Christ, reconcile you to one another and keep you in His love.
