We stand with you in this time of deep pain and emotional turmoil, lifting your heart and mind before the throne of grace. The wounds of abuse and trauma are not easily healed, but we serve a God who specializes in restoration and redemption. The psalmist cried out, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your pain is not beyond His reach.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep you bound in fear, shame, and despair. The memories may feel overwhelming, but we declare that the power of Christ is greater. *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). We take authority over every tormenting thought and command it to bow to the name of Jesus. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, is your inheritance as His child (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for the healing of your heart, that you would know the depth of God’s love for you. Abuse distorts our understanding of love, but Scripture reminds us, *"The Lord appeared of old to me, saying, ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you’"* (Jeremiah 31:3). You are deeply loved, not because of what you’ve done or what’s been done to you, but because of who God is. We ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you, to replace every lie with truth, and to fill the broken places with His perfect love.
Father, we ask You to bring healing to every shattered piece of this precious one’s heart and mind. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel the warmth of Your love like a healing balm. Bring godly counsel and support into their life—people who will speak life, pray with them, and walk alongside them in this journey. We declare that the chains of the past are broken in Jesus’ name, and that joy and peace will rise in their place. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust You with every step of their healing.
We also encourage you to seek out biblical counseling if you haven’t already. God often uses the wisdom and care of others to bring breakthrough. *"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed"* (Proverbs 15:22). You do not have to carry this burden alone.
Lord, we thank You that You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We trust You to complete the work You’ve begun in this dear one’s life. May they experience Your peace that passes all understanding, and may their heart and mind be fully restored to walk in the freedom You’ve purchased for them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
