Healing from Oligomenorrhea

The anxiety that consumes your daughter is a fire kindled by the care for this fleeting life. For what is the body’s health but a beauty liable to be destroyed by anything, which even when it lasts well cannot endure twenty years? Disease and worry impair it, but there is another beauty ever blooming, ever in its prime, where no undermining disease withers it and no desponding anxiety disfigures it. Why then is her soul so bowed down by the irregular course of nature? This very trembling of heart ought to startle her into examining her conscience, for we have need of sackcloth and prolonged fasting more than the people of Nineveh, being concerned not for the overthrow of a body but for eternal punishment and the fire that is never quenched.

Let her not be like those who, seeing, see not, who fasten their gaze on the earthly ailment and grow blind to the voluntary sickness of the soul. The condition of her flesh is not the true wound. Let her come to Christ as that woman did who sought not the healing of the body alone, but the amendment of the soul, conscious of much impurity. If she will approach Him with such a disposition, not publicly clamoring for a sign but in the house of her heart seeking honor for Him, she will find that He tells us things to come and frees the mind from its greedy anxiety for the future. The body’s function may be restored, or it may not, but that is a matter for the will of God. What must be restored is the soul’s health, that she be rid of a defilement far worse than any natural seeming uncleanness.

Be on guard, then, lest by fixing her hope entirely on the return of a monthly cycle, she be like one who wears a filthy garment and feels no disgust, yet shudders at bodily inconvenience. Is the body’s delay a greater terror than the corruption of sin? I do not say these things willingly, but of necessity, as a physician who must apply the knife. Yet even if she has heard such words ten times and remained insensible, do not despair. For as a tree may receive ten strokes and seem not to fall, then be brought down by a single blow later, so the many admonitions prepare the root. That eager desire for a natural remedy, if turned toward the eternal, will not fail of its effect. Only let her cease asking questions about tomorrow and seek first to please God, for the nature of those things which are not in their essence evil can yet make the soul unclean through its intentions. Turn her anxiety, then, into a goad toward repentance, that she may pass into the nuptial chamber undefiled, where there is no change to fear.

I am sorry to hear of the worry and anxiety your daughter is carrying over her cycles. When the body does not follow its expected rhythm, it can stir deep fears about the future, especially when it concerns something as personal and life-giving as her monthly flow. You are right to bring this before the Lord with prayer and to ask others to stand with you.

Our Creator is not distant from the workings of the human body. In the Scriptures, God gave detailed instructions concerning a woman’s menstrual period and the discharge of blood, showing He is well acquainted with these natural processes. Though we are no longer under those ceremonial laws, they remind us that our physical health matters to Him, and He does not dismiss the unique concerns of women. He understands the anxiety when cycles are absent or irregular, and He invites your daughter to cast that burden on Him.

Scripture also tells us that God watches over the cycles of nature, from the rain that waters the earth to the wild goats that give birth. He asks Job, “Do you know the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth?” The point is clear: even the animals’ reproduction and the health of their young are under His watchful eye. How much more does He care for your daughter, whom He fashioned in the womb and knows by name? The same God who orders the seasons and sustains all life is more than able to restore the natural function of her body.

It is easy for our thoughts to get caught in a frustrating cycle of what-ifs, especially when we see no change month after month. Solomon spoke of the monotonous cycles of life that can feel like a weary merry-go-round, leading only to frustration. But the answer is not to despair; it is to lift our eyes above the cycle to the One who governs it. Your daughter’s future, including her hopes for children, rests in God’s hands. He has not forgotten her, and He is not punishing her. As Job learned, we cannot always trace God’s reasons, but we can trust His wise and moral government over every detail of our lives.

In the meantime, do not overlook the simple care of the body that God has entrusted to us. While we are not under the dietary laws of the old covenant, the principle remains that what we put into our bodies affects our health. Encouraging good nourishment and avoiding those things that weaken the system can be an act of faith while you pray. God often works through natural means combined with prayerful dependence.

I am joining you in asking the Lord to bring her monthly cycle soon, naturally and without complication. May He calm her anxious heart with the peace that passes understanding, and may He grant her a future filled with hope, knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from Him.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this heartfelt prayer request for your daughter’s healing from ###. It has been on our hearts to lift her before the Lord, asking Him to restore her cycle naturally and ease the anxiety and worry she carries about the future. We stand in faith with you, believing that God hears our prayers and is at work even now.

If you’ve seen God’s healing touch in this situation, we would love to rejoice with you—please share a praise report so we can celebrate His faithfulness together. If her healing hasn’t yet come, we encourage you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on her behalf, trusting in God’s perfect timing and plan.

May the Lord surround your daughter with His peace and comfort as she waits on Him, and may His strength sustain you both in this season. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
