We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his complete healing from COPD and asthma, trusting in the power of our Great Physician, Jesus Christ. How precious it is that you have brought this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and receive mercy in our time of need. Your faith in calling upon the name of Jesus is a testament to your trust in Him, and we stand with you in this.
The Word of God assures us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over your son, believing that the Lord will restore his lungs, remove all inflammation, and cleanse any infection. The same God who breathed life into Adam’s nostrils is more than able to renew your son’s breath and strengthen his body. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits— who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."*
We also pray for the strengthening of his immune system, that the Lord would knit his body together in perfect health, just as He fearfully and wonderfully formed him in his mother’s womb. Let every virus, every illness, and every attack on his body be rebuked in the name of Jesus. The heat and humidity may rage, but we declare that your son will breathe with ease, for the Lord is his breath and his shield. *"Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him."* (Psalm 28:7)
Yet, as we pray for physical healing, we also ask the Lord to search your son’s heart. Is there any area of his life that needs surrender to Christ? Any sin that may be hindering his healing? We do not say this to bring condemnation, but because the Word teaches us in Psalm 66:18, *"If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened."* Let us all examine our hearts before the Lord, repenting of anything that does not align with His will, so that our prayers may not be hindered. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, for eternal life in Christ is far greater than even physical healing. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9)
Heavenly Father, we come before You with boldness, not because of our own righteousness, but because of the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin. We ask for Your healing touch upon this son, that You would restore his lungs to full function, remove every trace of COPD and asthma, and fill his body with Your supernatural strength. Let his breath be a testimony of Your power and grace. Give his mother peace as she trusts in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (1 Peter 2:24). May Your will be done in his life, for Your glory and honor. We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
