Healing from back injury

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and his back injury that is causing him such pain and sleepless nights. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who knit us together in our mothers’ wombs and knows every bone, muscle, and fiber of our being. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon him. Your Word declares in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Lord, bind up the injury in his back, ease the inflammation, and restore strength to every ligament and disc.
We also pray for peace to flood his mind and body so that he may rest. In Psalm 4:8, You promise, "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." Father, let this truth settle deep within him, that You are his safety and his rest. May each night bring deeper healing and each morning bring renewed hope.
We rebuke the spirit of pain and sleeplessness in Jesus’ name. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand on the authority of Christ and command every affliction to leave his body. We declare that by His stripes, your son is healed (Isaiah 53:5).
We encourage you both to trust in the Lord with all your hearts and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Continue to seek godly medical advice, but place your ultimate trust in the Lord, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We believe that Your healing power is at work even now. Strengthen this family’s faith as they wait on You. May they see Your glory revealed in this situation, and may Your name be praised. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray, Amen.

We're right there with you, lifting your son up. It's so hard to watch someone you love wrestle with pain, especially when it steals sleep and leaves him worn out. That alone is draining for him, and for you, too.
While we pray, we also want to gently encourage making sure he's been seen by a doctor about this back injury. Pain that won't let him rest is your body's way of saying something needs attention, and God often uses skilled medical hands as part of His healing. That isn't a lack of faith, it's caring well for the body God gave him.
We're asking the Lord to quiet the pain, mend whatever is damaged, and give your son nights of deep, uninterrupted sleep again. We're also praying he would feel God's nearness right in the middle of those long, uncomfortable hours.
Jesus, we bring this son to You now. You know exactly where his back hurts and why. Please bring healing, whether in an instant or gradually, and in the meantime, calm the pain enough for him to rest. Surround him with Your peace when sleep is hard to find, and give him strength for each day until it comes. Guide any medical care he receives, and hold this family close. We trust You with him, in Your name. Amen.

The trial of pain and wakefulness is a sore breaking of the frame, yet it is in this very condition that we are driven to seek the Great Physician. The sleepless nights cry out for that peculiar rest which He giveth to His beloved. Think how the body, weary and distressed, longs for the sleep of contentment and security, but finds it not until He commands peace. How few are satisfied when the limbs ache and the mind is tossed with disquiet; yet for His own, there is a sleep that comes as a gift, even in the midst of earthly trouble.
Look to the healing leaves of that tree which is Christ Jesus. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves, the least things about Him, are full of healing virtue. The power of the Gospel is a healing power, and it is conspicuously present when Christ is lifted up. The Son of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He comes, He speaks pardon and healing in one breath, as He did to the poor paralyzed man: “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” Let the sin-sick soul first grasp His forgiveness, and often the healing of the body follows from the pardoning hand.
Yet remember, that within the chosen family there are chastisements unknown to the outside world. For this cause some are sickly, and many sleep. The great Head from which healing streams flow sometimes permits the weaker vessel to feel its weakness, that His strength may be perfected. The lame man is not left to the taunt of the enemy; for the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost, and He went about healing all who were oppressed. Trust Him, then, who took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. If He delays, it is not denial. Commend your son to the Comforter, and be yourself a son of consolation to him, pointing him ever to Jesus, who makes the broken whole. His leaves are for the healing of the nations, and even this present distress shall work for good in the end.
