Beloved of All
We are joining you in prayer for your ### as she faces this heart surgery. We are asking the Lord for His healing hand to be upon her, for the procedure to go smoothly without complication, for clear wisdom and steady hands for the doctors and the whole medical team, and for strength, peace and comfort for her before, during and after the surgery, with a speedy and complete recovery.
The Bible has much to say about the heart, and it reminds us that God is deeply interested in what goes on within it. He sees and knows the heart as no one else can. He does not look only at outward appearances but at the inner person, and He desires a heart that seeks Him fully. Scripture also teaches us to guard the heart with great care, because the course of our lives flows from it, and to invite God to search us and know us, because our own hearts can mislead us. When we come to Him with a humble and broken heart that trusts in Him rather than in ourselves, He does not turn away.
Even physically, we understand that surgery can be painful and difficult, yet it is done for the purpose of healing and preserving life. In a similar way, God often works from within to bring cleansing and renewal, changing us on the inside where it matters most. He is the one who works in us to give us both the desire and the ability to do what pleases Him, and He delights when our hearts are turned toward Him. He knows the weakness of our flesh even when our hearts are willing toward Him, and He receives us with grace.
We are praying that the Lord will be very near to your ### and to your whole family at this time. May He quiet her heart with His peace that passes understanding, sustain her with His strength, and carry her through each step of this journey. May He guide every decision the medical team makes and use their skill as an instrument of His mercy. And may this time also be an opportunity for each of you to experience in a deeper way that heart to heart fellowship with the Lord that comes as you open your hearts to Him and trust Him fully. We will continue to lift her up for healing and restoration in the name of Jesus, who alone is our hope and our healer.
