We lift up your brother Curtis before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the pain and fear that comes with seeing a loved one suffer. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We stand on this promise, believing that God hears our cries and is able to bring healing and restoration.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, asking for Your divine touch upon Curtis. Lord, You are the One who formed him in his mother’s womb, and You know every cell, every fiber of his being. We ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand and bring wholeness to his body. If there is sickness, disease, or infirmity, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus and command it to leave. We declare that by Your stripes, Curtis is healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen his body, Lord, and grant wisdom to the doctors and caregivers attending to him. Give them discernment to diagnose and treat whatever is afflicting him.
Father, we also ask that You would comfort Curtis and his family during this time. Let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). If there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in Curtis’s life, we pray that You would bring it to light and lead him to repentance, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Whether You choose to heal Curtis miraculously or through medical means, we surrender this situation into Your hands, believing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in Curtis’s life, and may Your name be glorified through this trial.
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If Curtis does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him to the foot of the cross, where he can find eternal life and peace. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). We encourage you to share the hope of the Gospel with him, that he may experience the fullness of life that only Christ can offer.
In the meantime, we will continue to stand in the gap for Curtis, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he will rise up in strength and testimony to God’s faithfulness. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. May God’s grace, mercy, and peace be with you and your family as you walk this journey together.
