We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your aunt Saroj and your brothers before our Heavenly Father, who is the Great Physician and the Deliverer. We know that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We stand in the gap for them, believing in the power of Jesus’ name to bring healing, restoration, and freedom.
First, we lift up your dear aunt Saroj, who is enduring physical suffering and weakness. Father God, we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon her. You are the One who formed her in her mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know every part of her body. We pray for complete healing in her digestive system, relieve the constipation and acidity that have brought her discomfort. Strengthen her body, Lord, and restore her to full health so that she may rise from her bed and walk in the vitality You intended for her. We declare that by Your stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust in Your promise that those who seek You lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10). We also pray for wisdom and compassion for the medical professionals caring for her, that they may be guided by Your hand in every decision.
Lord, we also bring before You your younger brother and cousin, who are bound by the chains of smoking. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and anything that defiles this temple is an affront to You. Smoking is not only harmful to their physical health but also a form of bondage that keeps them from walking in the fullness of life You desire for them. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and command it to loose its grip on their lives. Father, we ask that You break every chain and set them free (John 8:36). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, so that they may desire holiness and wholeness more than the temporary pleasures of this world. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek accountability and support from fellow believers.
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, that our prayers are powerful and effective when we pray in the name of Jesus (James 5:16). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your family has not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray that they would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly (John 10:10), and we want them to experience that freedom and joy.
Let us now pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, believing in Your power to heal and deliver. We lift up Saroj to You, Lord, and ask for Your healing touch to flow through her body. Restore her strength, relieve her pain, and give her the ability to eat and drink without discomfort. We declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we trust in Your promise of healing and wholeness.
For our brothers who are struggling with smoking, we ask for Your deliverance, Lord. Break the chains of addiction and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them the desire to live holy and healthy lives that honor You. Surround them with godly influences and open their eyes to the freedom that is found only in You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His blood that we are healed, by His stripes that we are made whole, and by His name that we are saved. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will for their lives. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, believing that God is at work even when the circumstances seem difficult. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep declaring God’s promises over their lives. Remember that our God is faithful, and He will never leave nor forsake those who put their trust in Him (Hebrews 13:5). If your brothers are open to it, share with them the hope that is found in Jesus and encourage them to seek Him with all their hearts. He is the only One who can truly set them free.
