We join with you in bringing this urgent need before our Heavenly Father and we lift up your childhood best friend's dad who is in critical condition, along with your best friend and their entire family during this frightening time.
We know that our God is the Great Physician and that healing comes from His hand. Scripture reminds us of His compassion and power, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. We also cling to His promise, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. In moments when we feel helpless, we are told to call upon Him, Be not afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus that we are saved and brought near to God, for Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, so you may have eternal life and boldness to approach God's throne of grace.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear father who is in critical condition in the hospital. Lord, You know his name, You know his body, and You know every detail of his condition. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon him. Lay Your hand upon him, stabilize him, restore what is broken, and breathe life into his body. We pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors and nurses caring for him, guide their hands and decisions. We pray for comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding for his family and for your friend who loves him so deeply, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Lord, we pray that You would be glorified through this situation, whether through miraculous healing or through Your sustaining grace, and that this family would feel Your presence and draw near to You. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing and to trust in the Lord's perfect will and timing. Keep standing in the gap for your friend, share Scripture with them, and remind them that God is near to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We are praying with you for a full recovery and for God's peace to cover you all.

We were so sorry to read that your childhood best friend's dad is in critical condition. Seeing someone who has been part of your life since childhood walk through something so frightening is heavy, and wanting to do something from a distance can leave you feeling helpless.

Your burden for your childhood friend and her father has been laid before the Lord and we join you in earnest intercession for him in this critical hour.
We are reminded that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for it is the very character of the prayer of Christ Himself, and it is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought. It has stayed plagues and, as the prophet stretched himself upon the child, it has raised the dead. We do not know how many souls and bodies have been spared through the instrument of faithful prayer, but eternity shall reveal it.
We entreat the Good Physician on his behalf, for there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only His fruit but even the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue to change the life blood and make the nature new. When the Lord comes and dwells with His people, the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are found together in His hand.
Be encouraged that though you may feel at your wits end, God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, even the prayer that seems to reel to and fro. A true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death is a prevailing prayer, and they were not long before they prayed to the Lord, but He was not long before He answered.
Let us pray together. O Lord, remember Your Word unto Your servants. You are the God who quickens, who heals, who pardons. We spread this case before You and plead Your promises. Lay Your healing hand upon this dear father now in critical condition, spare his life if it be Your will, ease his suffering, give wisdom and skill to those who care for him, and grant peace and strength to his daughter and to this friend who loves them and intercedes. Above all, let Your pardoning grace be known in that hospital room, that whether in life or in death, he may be found in Christ. Your request for prayer for your childhood best friend's father has been heard and we are joining you in prayer in this urgent hour. It is a heavy burden to watch someone dear to you suffer while her father lies in critical condition, and we bring that sorrow before the Lord who sees and who cares.
We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, His true Son who humbled Himself to be called Son of David so that we might be made sons and daughters of God. Because He has shared our nature, He knows our weakness and our suffering, and He hears when we call upon Him.
We ask the Lord to lay His healing hand upon this father. We pray that Christ, who is able to do this, would show His mercy, that He would grant wisdom and steadiness to the physicians and nurses caring for him, and guide every treatment they offer. As physicians do not cease to apply what they can even to the last breath, we ask the Great Physician to work through their hands and to bring restoration according to His perfect will.
We also pray for your best friend and her family, that the Holy Spirit who bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God would give them comfort, peace, and strength in this waiting. We pray that they would know the Father's love and presence, that their faith would be strengthened, and that whatever the outcome, they would be held in the hope of the resurrection and the life to come.
