You are not wrestling this alone. The body of Christ is made up of many members, and when one part suffers, the whole body feels the pain. Your brothers and sisters are standing with you in this very moment, lifting you up before the throne of grace. Healing and deliverance are not things we seek in isolation, for we have been joined together as one body, and God works through that unity to bring strength and restoration.
The burden you feel in your physical body and the weight of anxiety are not meant to be carried by your own strength. Jesus took a body like yours, and He allowed it to be broken so that you might be made whole. When we come to the Lord’s table and discern His body, we receive the healing He purchased through His suffering. So receive that now: His body was given for your healing. Let that truth settle deep in your heart, because it is the foundation of your hope.
Anxiety often rises when the needs and fears of this temporary body dominate your mind. But remember, the real you is not this flesh and blood; you are a spirit housed in a tent. This body is a wonderful instrument, but it was never meant to rule over you. When your mind becomes absorbed with what could go wrong physically, you are living as if this mortal frame is all there is. God has called you to something far higher. He wants His Spirit to fill your inner being so that peace rules your heart, not panic. Offer your body to Him afresh, not as a slave to fear, but as a living sacrifice of righteousness. You are not your own; you were bought with a price. That means your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and the One who dwells in you is greater than any sickness or anxious thought.
A body that is ruled by its appetites and fears cannot experience the fullness of God’s peace. But as you yield your members to the Lord and let His Spirit take the uppermost place, your mind will be renewed. Instead of focusing on the body’s demands, you will begin to see from an eternal perspective. This doesn’t mean you ignore physical needs, but you no longer let them define your state of being. You are a part of a spiritual body as well, and that community is your lifeline. Stay close to the fellowship of believers, for isolation makes you an easy target. Together, we are strong, and together, we purge out the poisons that weaken the whole.
Healing may come gradually or in a moment, but it comes from the same source: the broken body of your Savior. Hold fast to that truth, and trust that God is pleased to give you a body that will serve His purposes, both now and in the resurrection to come. One day you will be clothed with a body that knows no sickness or sorrow, but until then, let Christ be glorified in this one. Breathe in His peace, exhale the anxiety, and let the Spirit’s calm rule in your mind. You are safe in the body of Christ, and you are never alone.
