We hear your heart’s cry for healing and restoration in your marriage, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this sacred union before the Lord. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:16, *"For I hate divorce,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously."* Marriage is a covenant designed by God, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25), and we pray that He would mend what has been broken and guard what He has joined together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. We ask that You would pour out Your healing balm upon this marriage, softening hearts, removing bitterness, and restoring love where it has faded. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke every spirit of division, infidelity, or temptation that seeks to draw either spouse away. Protect this marriage from the schemes of the enemy, and let no other person—man or woman—come between them. We pray for purity of heart and mind, that both husband and wife would flee from temptation and honor their vows before You (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
We also lift up the importance of seeking You first in this restoration. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* If there are areas where this marriage has strayed from Your design—whether through unconfessed sin, neglect, or worldly influences—we ask that You reveal them and lead both spouses into repentance and renewal. Let Your Word be the foundation of their home, and may they find strength in You alone.
Father, we pray for wisdom and humility as they navigate this season. Help them to communicate with grace, to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13), and to rebuild trust through transparency and accountability. Surround them with godly counsel—mentors, pastors, or trusted friends who can speak truth and encouragement into their lives. May they find hope in Your promises, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all they could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Lastly, we declare that this marriage is covered by the blood of Jesus. No force of darkness can prevail against it when it is submitted to You. We stand on Your Word in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,” says Yahweh."* May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We commit this marriage into Your hands, trusting that You will complete the good work You have begun (Philippians 1:6). In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
