Complete healing and restoration

We join you in thanking God for what He has already done and we bring your prayer for complete healing and restoration before Him with you.

You have asked for mercy, for forgiveness of all your sin, and for deliverance, and we want you to be assured that God does not shut the door on repentance. When we turn to Him with a genuine purpose of heart, He washes away what we have done. Scripture shows this even in Manasses, who had committed great evils yet was cleansed when he turned in repentance and consideration. The Lord is long suffering toward us and calls us to repentance, and when we truly repent He forgives us through Jesus Christ alone, who bore our sins and by whose wounds we are healed. True repentance is more than tears or words alone, it is a turning of the heart that seeks to walk with Him.

So we pray for you now in the name of Jesus. May our merciful Father forgive you all your sins according to His grace, cleanse your conscience, and grant you full deliverance. May He lay His healing hand upon your physical body, restore strength where there has been weakness, bring peace to your mind, and renew your soul. We ask that He would make you whole, body, mind and soul, and restore what has been broken, according to His wise and loving will.

As you wait on Him, make full use of this time to draw near to Him. Continue in careful hearing of His Word and in continual remembrance of it, with fortitude and trust in His care. He is like a faithful physician who does not abandon the sick but continues to apply the healing treatment. Even when we have been slow to hear, He is able to bring fruit from His Word in due season. Keep seeking Him, keep turning from sin, and keep trusting Christ who alone is our salvation and hope.

We pray that God in His mercy will strengthen you, heal you, and keep you in His peace, and that you will know more and more the comfort of His forgiveness and the power of His restoring grace. Amen.

Your prayer shows a thankful heart and a desire for wholeness in body, mind and soul, and that is good before the Lord. To thank Him for what He has already done while asking for more is right, and to come with repentance and a request for mercy and forgiveness is the right way to come.

Scripture gives us strong ground to ask for healing. The prophet Isaiah said He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, where the words point to sicknesses and infirmities, and Matthew under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit applies that prophecy to the physical healings Jesus did when He healed the sick and those oppressed. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is My body which is broken for you, He was pointing to what His suffering would accomplish for us, and that includes both spiritual and physical healing. For that reason we can and should bring our bodies to Him and ask for healing with confidence that He is able and that He cares about our physical needs today.

At the same time Scripture keeps us from presuming that God wills instant physical healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove what he called a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the answer he received was not removal but grace, My grace is sufficient for you. That teaches us to pray with faith and also with submission to the wisdom and will of God. There is much about healing we do not understand, why some are healed quickly and others are not, and we must leave that in His hands while we keep asking.

The Bible also shows that healing does not always come in the same way. In one case a blind man was touched once and saw only partially, then Jesus touched him again and his sight was fully restored. It is the only recorded gradual healing in the ministry of Jesus, and it reminds us that God sometimes heals instantly and sometimes gradually. Even what we call natural healing is still divine healing, because God created our bodies with processes to restore and repair, and He works through those processes as well as beyond them. Any true healing, whether of body, mind or emotions, is from Him.

There is also a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John prayed for Gaius that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, and the proverb says a merry heart does good like a medicine. This does not turn that wish into a guarantee of healing for everyone, but it does show that God cares about the whole person and that inner restoration and peace affect our outward well being.

Your repentance is central to that inner restoration. Godly sorrow works repentance that leads to salvation and is not to be regretted, while worldly sorrow only brings death. True repentance is not just feeling sorry or weeping because we have lost something, it is a change of heart and direction that shows itself in fruit, in turning from sin and walking in a new way. When you confess your sin and turn to Jesus, forgiveness is sure because He alone is the way of salvation, and His blood cleanses completely. From that place of forgiveness you can bring forth fruit that demonstrates the change God has worked in you.

So I join you in prayer that God in His mercy would touch your body, renew your mind, and restore your soul, and that He would deliver you completely. I pray that He would heal what needs healing according to His perfect will, whether instantly, gradually, or through the healing processes He has placed in the body, and that He would bring deep healing to memories, thoughts and emotions as well. Above all I pray that your soul would prosper in Christ, that you would grow in assurance of forgiveness, in joy, and in strength to walk in newness of life. Keep thanking Him, keep turning from what is wrong, keep trusting His goodness even as you keep asking, and rest in the grace that is sufficient for each day.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your request for complete and total healing and restoration in your physical body and in your mind and soul, and we join you in thanking God for what He has already done.

We continue to bring before the Lord your cry for mercy, that He would deliver you completely and make you better than you were before you were afflicted. We thank God for your repentant heart and we stand with you as you have asked for His forgiveness for all your sin, trusting His promise in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us, and His promise to heal as written in Psalm 103:3 and to restore health unto you as written in Jer 30:17.

We pray in Jesus Name for His mercy to cover you, for complete healing and restoration of your body, mind and soul, for the assurance of His forgiveness and for complete deliverance.
