There is a beautiful promise woven throughout Scripture that God Himself ordains peace for His people. It is not a fleeting feeling or the absence of trouble, but a deep, abiding peace that comes from Jesus Christ Himself. He said to His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.” That peace is still being offered today to all who turn to Him and lay down their war with God. When you receive His forgiveness, the inner turmoil begins to still, and you discover the truth that He is our peace who has broken down every wall.
As you pray for healing and protection for yourself and your family, remember that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. That is where real health and deliverance begin. Scripture tells us to depart from evil, and the result will be health to your body and refreshment to your bones. It is not that material things are inherently evil, but evil thoughts, words, and deeds tolerated in our hearts and homes can bring sickness and unrest. When you ask God to deliver you from evil, He calls you to join Him in that work, to turn away from it, to refrain your tongue from speaking it, and to seek peace and pursue it. As you do, you are not alone. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.
Whenever you feel anxious or the world’s chaos presses in, lift your eyes and keep your mind stayed on Him. The promise is sure: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” That peace passes all understanding and will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. It is a peace that spills over into your home, into your relationships, and into the very atmosphere of your family when each heart rests in Him.
So be encouraged. You have asked according to His will, and He is faithful. The enemy would love for you to believe that evil is winning or that your situation is too far gone, but the end of evil’s reign is certain. Meanwhile, God extends to you a peace treaty through His Son, inviting you to walk in healing and protection. May that peace, which the world cannot give, fill every part of your life and bind your family together in His love.
