Head Injury

We have heard your request and we are joining you in prayer for your mother after her fall and head injury, and we are asking God to be near to both of you during this difficult time in the hospital.

We know how frightening it is when a loved one is suddenly injured and we are reminded that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. He sees your mother, He knows every detail of her condition, and He cares deeply for her. We take comfort that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that He has promised But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also cling to His promise to you as you wait and worry, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We lift her up together now in prayer. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother to You. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her head and her body, to reduce any swelling or bleeding, to protect her brain from further harm, and to guide the doctors and nurses with wisdom and skill as they care for her. We pray for Your peace to guard her and her family, to calm fear and to give rest in the midst of uncertainty. We ask for a full and complete recovery according to Your perfect will, and for strength for her loved ones as they watch over her. We pray that Your presence would be felt in that hospital room and that this trial would draw this family closer to You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God and assurance of His grace and eternal life, so we encourage you to put your trust in Him both for your mother's healing and for your own soul, believing that He died and rose again for the forgiveness of sins.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to ask the medical staff for clear updates, and to rest in the Lord's care knowing that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. We are standing with you in faith that God will bring healing and comfort, and we pray that you will see His mercy and sustaining power day by day.

We were so sorry to hear about your mother's fall and that she is in the hospital. It is such a helpless feeling to wait while someone you love is hurt, especially with a head injury. We are holding you and your mother in prayer right now.

We are thankful she is where she can be closely watched and cared for. The hours in the hospital can be long and full of questions, so if it helps, keep a small note of what the doctors share and any questions that come to mind to ask at the next update. And if you have family or friends nearby, let them share the waiting with you so you can step away to rest and eat when you need to. You do not have to carry this alone.

We are asking God to be near to your mother with His comfort and healing, and to give wisdom and steady hands to those caring for her, and peace to you as you wait and support her.

Father, we lift this mother to You and ask for Your mercy and care over her. Watch over her in the hospital, guide her medical team, and bring comfort and strength to her and to her family in these anxious days. Give them peace as they trust You, and help them to feel Your presence close. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request concerning your dear mother and her grievous fall has been heard with much tenderness, and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician. How much more should we seek the heavenly Physician, who is good at healing all manner of wounds. Our Lord Jesus is still in His hospital, and He has not exhausted His patience nor used up His ointments. There is an abundance of healing power in Him, and not only His fruit but the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. A word from Him, coming home to the heart as His, brings healing to head and heart alike.

Let us pray together for her.

O Lord our God, Sun of Righteousness with healing in Thy wings, look in mercy upon this wounded one now lying in the hospital. Thou hast made our frame and Thou knowest our weakness. Lay Thy hand upon her, as Thou didst take Peter's wife's mother by the hand and lift her up from the fever. We ask Thee to give skill and wisdom to those who tend her, to restrain further harm, and to grant, if it be Thy gracious will, a full restoration to health and strength. Heal the hurt of her head, calm her fears, and let her feel herself leaning upon the bosom of Christ.

We pray also for this anxious child who watches and waits. Heal the broken in heart and bind up their wounds. Grant peace in the waiting room and by the bedside, and let this trial draw the whole family to trust more simply in Thy Son, in whom pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. Show them that Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and that Jesus pours His own precious blood into our deepest wounds.

We commend her body and soul into Thy faithful hands, beseeching Thee to do what is best for Thy glory and her eternal good. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.

We will continue to remember your mother before the Lord, and we encourage you to abide in Christ through prayer and His Word as you wait upon Him.
