He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward," Matthew10:41a. There are those today who believe that prophets of the Lord no longer exist today. If you are such a person then you must say that I do not exist, and so be it. For those who do believe that prophets of the Lord do exist today, then it is to you that I speak. I still remember hearing that small still voice calling me. I heard the voice tell me I will use you as one of my prophets. I will anoint you with my Spirit to reach multitudes. Just know that many will hate, and reject you, while only few will love you, and receive you. Will you accept my calling upon your life I was asked? With tears I said, yes O Lord. I will go where You take me as one of Your prophets. A Holy Ghost anointing came upon me unlike anything I had ever felt before. Soon after the Holy Spirit was speaking to me to minister to others. There would be things I would speak, that some people would ask me, "how do you know that?" How could I possibly know such things about a certain person. I would tell them it is not in the natural that I know these things, but it is in the Spirit. There were those who were instantly healed from illness, and who had devils casted out of them. The greatest message that was given to me by the Holy Spirit was that of the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ where He will come back in power, and great glory. He placed upon my heart the three things that the Lord Jesus Christ said to be ready unto that day, and that is to take heed that no man deceive you, watch, and pray. So I come before you as one of the prophets of the Lord Jesus' Christ's. Do you receive me, and thus you receive the prophet's reward? In Jesus' name! Amen!

We hear your testimony with open hearts and discerning spirits, seeking the Lord’s wisdom in this matter. The Word of God indeed speaks of prophets in both the Old and New Testaments, and we do not limit the Holy Spirit’s work to the pages of Scripture alone. Jesus Himself said, "He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward" (Matthew 10:41 WEB). Yet we are also commanded to "test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1 WEB).

The calling you describe, a direct encounter with the voice of God, an anointing of the Holy Spirit, and supernatural gifts, is not unfamiliar to us. The Lord still speaks, still heals, and still delivers today. However, we must weigh every word and manifestation against the plumb line of Scripture. The apostle Paul exhorts us to "not despise prophecies, but test all things; hold fast what is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 WEB). Even the most sincere and powerful experiences must align with the truth of God’s Word.

We are deeply moved by your account of healings, deliverance, and the urgency of Christ’s return. These are indeed biblical truths, Jesus is coming again, and we must be watchful, prayerful, and alert against deception (Matthew 24:4-5, 42-44 WEB). Yet we must also guard against pride, for even the most anointed servants of God are capable of error. The prophet Jeremiah warned, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9 WEB). Even the apostle Paul, who performed miracles, urged believers to "examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith" (2 Corinthians 13:5 WEB).

We do not reject your calling outright, nor do we blindly accept it without discernment. Instead, we pray for wisdom, humility, and confirmation from the Lord. If you are indeed a prophet sent by God, then your words will bear fruit in keeping with repentance, righteousness, and the edification of the Body of Christ (Matthew 7:15-20 WEB). If your ministry is of the Lord, it will point people to Jesus Christ alone, not to signs, wonders, or personal revelation above the written Word.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, the only Name by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Lord, we thank You for the testimony of Your servant, and we ask for Your Holy Spirit to grant us discernment. If this calling is from You, confirm it with Your Word and Your peace. If there is any deception, reveal it in love and truth. Father, we pray that You would guard our hearts from both skepticism and gullibility. Help us to walk in wisdom, to test every spirit, and to hold fast to what is good. May Your Church be built up in faith, love, and unity, and may we all be found ready for the return of Your Son. We ask this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in humility, submitting your words and actions to the scrutiny of mature believers who are grounded in Scripture. The apostle Peter, who walked with Jesus and performed miracles, also wrote, "For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:21 WEB). May your ministry, if it is of God, be marked by that same divine inspiration and submission to His Word.

Finally, we remind you, and all who read this, that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Him alone for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. Without this foundation, even the most extraordinary spiritual experiences are meaningless. But with Christ as your Lord, even the smallest acts of obedience become powerful testimonies of His grace.

The road you described, where many reject and few receive, is a heavy one. We remember that even prophets we read about in Scripture often felt alone, yet God sustained them. That same sustaining grace is yours. As you walk this path, one of the most stabilizing things we’ve seen is the gift of a grounded community: a local church where trusted elders know you personally, where your calling can be lived out under loving accountability and alongside others who can encourage and also help test things with you. It’s not a lack of faith to lean on the body Christ has given; it’s how He often keeps our feet steady.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the ways You draw near to Your people and equip them by Your Spirit. We lift up our brother who believes You have set him apart as a prophet. Guard his heart from the wounds of rejection and from the isolation that can come with such a calling. Anchor him deeply in Your love, in the truth of Your Word, and in a faithful community that will walk with him. Give him discernment, humility, and a steady endurance. May whatever gifts You’ve given be used only to build up others and to point clearly to You. In Your name we pray, Amen.

The Spirit of God never leads a true messenger to demand recognition for himself, but to point always to Christ. You ask, “Do you receive me?” But the question of eternal weight is this: Do you receive Him whom the Father has sent? Moses spoke of a Prophet to come, and that Prophet is Jesus Christ, mighty in word and deed, the one Mediator between God and man. No other stands in that office as He does; all who speak for God now speak only as they echo His Word. The anointing you describe, if it be genuine, will never draw attention to the vessel but to the Treasure within. The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ; He does not cry, “Receive me, for I am a prophet,” but rather, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

You speak of a still small voice calling you. I do not doubt that the Lord calls His servants in mysterious ways, but the effectual calling of the Spirit is first to salvation, to repentance and faith in Jesus. Have you come to Him as a sinner, empty-handed, casting yourself upon His mercy? That is the great call. If you are truly His, then any service flows from that union. Yet be on your guard: many in these last days will say, “Lo, here is Christ, or there,” and the Master Himself warned us to take heed that no man deceive us. The sign of a true messenger is not miracles or secret knowledge, Simon Magus also amazed the people, but fidelity to the Word and a life that reeks of humility. The prophetic office, in its fullness, ceased with the apostles, who laid the foundation of the church. Yet God still raises up pastors and teachers, men who tremble at His Word, not those who boast of new revelations.

You speak of the soon coming of the Lord. Amen, let us watch and pray! But the way to be ready is not to run after signs and self-appointed prophets, but to be found in Christ, clothed in His righteousness. The great reward of which Scripture speaks, the prophet’s reward, is not bestowed because we receive a title or a man, but because we receive the Word of God in the name of a prophet, that is, as sent from God. And what is that reward? It is God Himself! “Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward.” He that receives Christ receives the Reward of rewards. If you truly come in the name of the Prophet like Moses, then your message will be nothing but “Christ and Him crucified.” It will not exalt yourself, but will cry, “Make straight the way of the Lord!”

Examine yourself, then, by this test: Does your ministry drive men to the Scriptures, to the finished work of Jesus, and to a holy walking with God? Or does it create dependence upon your person, your words, your anointing? The Spirit’s calling is a high calling, a heavenly calling; it lifts us out of the mire of self and sets our affection on things above. If you have heard the Shepherd’s voice, you know His tone, and you will not follow a stranger. My counsel to you is to flee to Christ as a beggar at the gate of mercy, and if you are then called to speak, speak not of yourself but of Him. For it is not he that commends himself that is approved, but whom the Lord commends. The reward is sure for those who are faithful, but it will be given in that day when the secrets of all hearts are revealed. Till then, let us be lowly, teachable, and quick to hear the voice of the Master alone.

You speak of a prophet’s reward, but I ask you: whose reward do you seek? When our Lord said, "He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward," He spoke not to exalt the prophet but to teach us to honor the one sent for the sake of the Sender. The reward belongs to the receiver who welcomes the prophet not for any worldly gain, not because the man is great, but because he comes in the name of the Lord. If you are truly a prophet, then your reward is already with God, who sees in secret. Why then do you press us to receive you for the sake of a reward? That sounds like one who seeks his own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

Consider how Paul conducted himself. He refused to receive gifts, lest anyone think he preached for profit. He sent others so that no one could accuse him of greed. He did not announce his anointing with tears and wonders, though he could have boasted of visions and revelations. Instead, he became all things to all men, a servant for the gospel’s sake. A true prophet is known by his fruit: humility, not self, assertion; pointing to Christ, not to his own experiences.

You speak of a small still voice, of healings and casting out devils. But even Judas performed signs when sent out by the Lord, yet his heart was not right. The gift is not the proof of the giver; it is the life that must be tested. Do you exalt yourself, or do you lay down your life for the brethren? Do you demand that we receive you, or do you come as one who serves? The Spirit of God does not contradict the word He inspired. He moved Paul to write that if anyone preaches another gospel, let him be accursed. The prophet’s message must align with the faith once delivered, repentance, the coming judgment, the glory of Christ alone. If your message is truly that which you say, the soon return of our Lord, then live in constant readiness, and teach others to do the same without drawing attention to your own role.

I do not say you are not a prophet, but I urge you to test yourself. God knows His own, and He will bear witness in due time. For now, let us all be content to be known by Him, not by men. If you are indeed sent, then go and preach the word in season and out of season, but do not seek the prophet’s reward from men. That reward is reserved for the day of Christ, when each will receive praise from God. And for us, we receive every messenger who brings the true word, whether he be the greatest apostle or the least of these little ones, not for their status, but for His name. That is the reward we desire: not a passing recognition, but the eternal welcome of the Master, who will say, "Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

A prophet’s claim is a weighty thing. Scripture itself tells us that there would be those who speak in the name of the Lord, yet the Lord has not sent them, and the test is given plainly: if what they say does not come to pass, they have spoken presumptuously. We are not to be afraid of them, nor are we to receive them blindly.

You point to Matthew 10:41 and ask if I receive you as a prophet. That verse truly promises a prophet’s reward to those who receive a prophet. But the same Scriptures also warn us not to receive anyone who does not abide in the doctrine of Christ. So the question cannot be settled by your own testimony alone; it must be weighed.

I hear what you describe, a sense of calling, a still voice, healings, and a message of Christ’s return. Those are serious things, and if they are from God, they will bear witness with the Spirit through the Word. Yet none of these, even if true, eliminate the need for testing. Jesus Himself told His disciples to take heed that no man deceive them. He said many would come in His name. The presence of power is not the seal; obedience to the revealed Word is.

The call to watch and pray and not be deceived is not a new revelation; it is the common instruction to every believer. The hope of His coming belongs to the whole church. So a message that repeats these things, however fervently delivered, does not in itself establish someone as a prophet.

I notice also that the one who proclaimed “He that receiveth a prophet” is the same Lord who said we must be on guard against wolves in sheep’s clothing. A true prophet does not seek his own acceptance; he seeks the honor of the One who sent him. Elisha would receive nothing for himself. The Spirit points always to Christ, not to whether we are recognized.

So I must say, not in rejection of you as a person, but in faithfulness to the pattern given: I cannot simply receive you on your word. I must see whether your words align entirely with sound doctrine, whether you point solely to the finished work of Jesus, and whether what you prophesy comes to pass without mixture. If the Lord has truly sent you, that will become evident in time, and then the reward of the prophet will be shared by those who helped you. But if not, then to receive you would be to share in deeds that Scripture forbids.

My acceptance before God is not found in a title; it is found in Christ alone, by faith. I would urge you, as I would urge myself, to examine everything by the Word, to test the spirits, and to rest not in experiences but in the gospel by which we are saved. The only ground on which anyone can stand is the grace of God in Jesus Christ, received through faith, not a prophetic office. Watch and pray, not because a prophet told you, but because the Lord commanded it. And hold fast to the truth that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, but holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, and that Spirit will always exalt the Son, never the messenger.
