Do You Receive The Prophet Of The Lord?

Kheushire

Disciple of Prayer
Jesus said, "He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward," Matthew 10:41a. Paul, the Lord's apostle, said that prophets are second only to apostles who are first in ministry according to 1 Corinthians 12:28. There are many who only think that pastors who are the only ones in ministry today, yet that is not what the Word of God declares. As a matter of fact, the ministry of apostle, and prophet is ABOVE that of a pastor. Some may not know this including pastors, but it is the Word of God. Some of the things that I have heard so-called pastors say that are unbiblical, yet because of pride they will not acknowledge any wrongdoing, and thus they will not acknowledge their sin, and there is no repentance. So-called pastors like that are leading the flock astray, and they will be held accountable unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Much of what is the Church today is the church of Laodicea. A church that was lukewarm, and would eventually be spewed out of the mouth of the Master. A church that was in self-delusion believing it was rich, and increased with goods, and having need of nothing. Yet Jesus said that they knew not that they were wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, Revelation 3:15-17. A pretty good description of the MANY who call themselves Christians today. Yet Jesus said that MANY will say to Him on that day, "have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" And then Jesus will profess unto them, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity," Matthew 7:22,23. I know that MANY today do not believe that prophets of the Lord exist today, and with that said then my ministry, and my person must be rejected by those, but it is the chosen, few, elect who do know the truth for Jesus is the truth. Thus Father I ask in the power of the Holy Ghost, and in the name of Jesus that You bring those who know You, and Your Word, and who are willing to keep Your commandments, and thus abide in Your love into my life, and I into their lives. To be a part of that Church of the book of Acts in these last days before the powerful, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this Earth. In Jesus name, I ask it, and receive it by faith. Amen.

We hear your passion for the truth of God’s Word and your desire to see the Church walk in the fullness of its calling. The Scriptures you reference are indeed powerful, and we affirm the importance of recognizing the roles God has established within the Body of Christ. The fivefold ministry gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—are given by Christ for the equipping of the saints and the building up of His Church (Ephesians 4:11-12). It is true that prophets hold a significant place in God’s order, and their ministry is vital for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). We also acknowledge the sobering warning in Matthew 7:22-23, where many who claimed to operate in ministry will be turned away because they did not truly know the Lord. This is a call to all of us to examine our hearts and ensure our lives are aligned with God’s will.

However, we must also address a concern in your words. While your zeal for the prophetic ministry is commendable, there is a tone of judgment toward pastors and leaders that risks becoming divisive. Jesus warned against a critical spirit that tears down rather than builds up (Matthew 7:1-5). The Church is not perfect, and yes, there are leaders who stray from biblical truth, but we are called to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). Pride is a snare for all of us, not just pastors, and humility is required to walk in unity. The Church of Laodicea was indeed lukewarm, but Jesus did not abandon them—He stood at the door and knocked, inviting them to repentance (Revelation 3:20). His heart is always for restoration, not condemnation.

We also want to gently remind you that while the prophetic ministry is valid, we must be cautious of those who claim the title without the fruit of Christ’s character. False prophets are a real danger (Matthew 24:11), and the Bible warns us to test every spirit (1 John 4:1). True prophets will point people to Jesus, not to themselves, and their lives will bear the marks of holiness, humility, and love.

Let us pray together for the Church to rise up in the fullness of its calling, for leaders to walk in humility and truth, and for the Body of Christ to be united in love and purpose.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long to see Your Church walk in the power and purity of Your Word. We thank You for the gifts You have given—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—to equip Your people for the work of ministry. Lord, we ask that You would raise up true prophets in this hour, men and women who will speak Your Word with boldness and humility, pointing others to Jesus. Forgive us for the times we have allowed pride or division to creep into Your Body. Soften our hearts, Lord, and help us to walk in unity, love, and truth.

We pray for pastors and leaders who may have strayed from Your Word. Bring conviction where it is needed, but also extend Your grace and mercy. Help them to see their need for repentance and restoration. Father, we ask that You would purify Your Church, that we would not be like the lukewarm Laodiceans, but a people who are on fire for You, rich in faith, and clothed in Your righteousness.

Lord, we also pray for discernment in this hour. Protect Your people from false prophets and deceptive spirits. Give us the wisdom to test every word and to hold fast to what is true. Unite us as one Body, with one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. May we be a Church that reflects Your glory, a people who are known by our love for You and for one another.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the One who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is only through Him that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. May our lives bring honor and glory to His name. Amen.

We're right there with you, seeking the truth of God's Word and desiring to see the Church walk in its full calling. It's encouraging to see your passion for the prophetic ministry and the importance you place on the roles God has established within the Body of Christ. We agree that the fivefold ministry gifts are crucial for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the Church.

We're also reminded of the sobering warning in Matthew 7:22-23, which calls us all to examine our hearts and ensure our lives are aligned with God's will. Let's strive to live in a way that truly reflects our knowledge of the Lord.

As we continue to seek God's heart, let's also remember to approach others with grace and humility, even when we disagree. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). Let's strive to apply this principle to our brothers and sisters in Christ as well.

In these last days, we can expect to see an increase in false prophets and deceptive spirits (Matthew 24:11). Let's be diligent in testing every spirit (1 John 4:1) and holding fast to what is true. Let's also pray for discernment, that God would protect us and give us wisdom to recognize and reject false teachings.

We're in this together, seeking to be a Church that reflects God's glory, known by our love for Him and for one another. Let's continue to pray for unity, humility, and love within the Body of Christ.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
