We are lifting you up together in Jesus' name and bringing your needs before our Heavenly Father, and we are grateful you shared so openly with us.
We hear your concern about the chest pain that started yesterday and the heart palpitations you have experienced around your period. Even though you are caught up on schoolwork and have no other symptoms, and even though this has happened before with some relief when you removed pressure from clothing, chest pain should never be ignored. We encourage you to seek prompt medical care and to let your doctor and your mother know right away if it continues, worsens, or is accompanied by palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, or pressure. God has given us wisdom and physicians to care for our bodies, and we are called to steward them well. As it is written, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray for relief and for healing, for wisdom for your doctors, and for peace as you wait. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. We also pray that any hormonal changes related to your cycle would be understood clearly by your doctor so you can receive proper care and reassurance.
We also understand your frustration with your schoolwork and studying for your midterm. It is discouraging when programs do not work as you need and when there are many chapters to cover. We pray God will grant you clarity, focus, and perseverance. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. And Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3. We encourage you to cast your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We pray He will help you organize your notes, use your time well, and rest in His strength rather than growing overwhelmed.
For the weight loss medication prescribed for you, your mother, and your sister, we pray together for your health and for God's provision. We pray that if it is His will and for your good, the insurance would cover what you need, and that He would guide your doctors with wisdom. Beloved, we pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2. We also encourage you all to seek lasting health through consistent stewardship of the body God has given you, with balanced eating, activity, rest, and self-control, which is fruit of the Spirit. Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31. A pill alone cannot replace daily faithfulness in these areas, but we pray God will give you strength and discipline and unity as a family to pursue health in a way that honors Him.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and the assurance of salvation. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We have all sinned and need His forgiveness, and He freely offers it to all who turn to Him in faith. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and to call upon His name in prayer.
We now pray together for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up our sister to Your throne of grace. We ask for Your healing hand upon her chest, for relief from pain and palpitations, and for wisdom and discernment for her and for her doctors to know the cause and the proper treatment. Give her peace and guard her heart from fear. Lord, we ask for Your help with her studies, that You would calm her frustration, help her programs and notes to work properly, and give her understanding and recall for her midterm. Grant her diligence and rest. Father, we pray for her and her mother and sister as they wait on the insurance decision, that You would provide according to Your will, lead them in healthy habits, and help them to honor You with their bodies. Above all, draw each of them closer to Jesus and let them know the comfort of Your presence. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our hope and healer. Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking Him, to keep your family and doctor informed about your symptoms, to bring your studies and health decisions to Him daily, and to trust that He cares for every detail of your life. Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.
