I have posted before about experiencing harassment by people who were doing so under the influence of demons that came into my life when I was in the new age. Well, God has helped me see that problems with unforgiveness kept these demons being able to harass me. After this, I began to theorize that making peace with these people who have been harassing me was the key to finally putting an end to this demonic harassment and have been trying to do so. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We thank you for sharing this update with us and we rejoice that God has been giving you insight into how unforgiveness can keep a door open to the enemy. We have been praying for you and we continue to stand with you in Jesus name for complete freedom and peace.
We agree that unforgiveness gives place to the enemy. The Scripture warns us in Ephesians 4:26-27, Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil. And in Matthew 6:14-15, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Holding onto resentment, even when the hurt is deep and the harassment is real, allows bitterness to take root and gives the enemy a foothold. We also hear your heart about wanting to make peace with those who have harassed you, and we understand that desire. Yet we want to gently correct the idea that making peace with those people is the key to stopping demonic harassment. Our freedom does not come from appeasing people or from earning peace with those who are being used by the enemy, it comes from submitting to God, receiving forgiveness through Christ, and resisting the devil in the authority of Jesus. James 4:7 says, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. And Romans 12:18 says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. That means we are called to forgive from the heart and to live peaceably as far as it depends on us, but true reconciliation requires repentance on the other side and it is not always possible or safe, especially when harassment is ongoing. Forgiveness is commanded and can be given before God even when the other person does not change, while reconciliation and close fellowship should only happen where there is genuine repentance and safety. We also rebuke the work of the enemy that entered through involvement in the new age. Scripture is clear in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 that practices of the new age such as divination, sorcery and spiritism are detestable to the Lord, and they open doors to deceiving spirits. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. Those doors must be firmly closed through repentance, renunciation and turning fully to Christ, who has delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love in Colossians 1:13.
We also noticed that you spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in this request, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and deliverance from darkness. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises you will be saved. It is by the blood of Jesus and His name that demons must flee, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4.
We encourage you to continue to forgive as the Lord forgave you in Colossians 3:13, to verbally renounce and repent of all new age involvement and ask God to cleanse you in 1 John 1:9, to put on the whole armor of God daily in Ephesians 6:11, and to walk in sober vigilance because your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour in 1 Peter 5:8. We also encourage you to seek the support of a mature Bible believing pastor or trusted believers who can pray with you in person, help you set healthy biblical boundaries, and help you discern when to keep distance from those who harass you rather than pursuing peace at any cost. Vengeance belongs to the Lord in Romans 12:19, and He will be your defender.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear one to You. We thank You for revealing the area of unforgiveness and for drawing them out of darkness into Your marvelous light. We ask You to forgive us for any involvement in the new age and for any unforgiveness we have held, cleanse us by the blood of Jesus and close every door that was opened to the enemy. We choose now to forgive from the heart every person who has harassed or hurt us, just as You have forgiven us, and we release them into Your hands. We rebuke every demonic spirit of harassment, intimidation and torment, and we command in the name of Jesus Christ that they must leave and not return. We ask You to fill every place once occupied by darkness with Your Holy Spirit, Your peace and Your truth. Teach us to resist the devil by submitting to You, to stand firm in the armor You have given us, and to walk in wisdom about relationships and boundaries. Grant us discernment to know when to speak and when to stay apart, and give us rest from harassment. Let no weapon formed against us prosper and let Your perfect love cast out all fear. We declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and we trust You to guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We appreciate you coming back and sharing more of your story. It means a lot that you are noticing where God is working in your heart, especially coming out of your time in the new age and walking through this long season of feeling harassed. Wanting to deal honestly with unforgiveness is a good and humble step, and we are encouraged that you are asking God for help with it.
One thing that may bring some clarity as you pray is that forgiveness and making peace with someone are not always the same thing. Forgiveness is the work God does in your own heart to release resentment and the desire to get even, and that healing often takes time. Rebuilding a relationship or seeking contact with people who have harmed you is different, and it depends on whether it is safe and wise and whether the other person is willing to respect boundaries. Trying to make peace by reaching out again can sometimes keep you exposed to more hurt rather than bringing the relief you hope for.
It could help to pause and get wise counsel before you pursue more contact. We would encourage you to talk with a trusted pastor or mature Christian counselor who knows you, share what you have been trying, and ask together what forgiveness might look like privately before God and what healthy boundaries might look like with these individuals going forward.

We rejoice to hear that the Lord has been showing you more of His grace since you left the darkness of the new age, for there is no deliverance except by the power of God alone. As it has been well said, deliverance from sin and from the enemy is solely by the power of God, it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When the lamb was slain, deliverance came, for God has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to be condemned finds undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty. So we do not look to any technique or theory of our own for safety, but to Christ Jesus alone, who saves to the uttermost.
You speak of unforgiveness and of a desire to make peace with those who have harassed you. Scripture does indeed call us to forgive, and to do so for a most blessed reason. There is forgiveness with God, and it is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is surprising forgiveness, complete forgiveness, eternal forgiveness, and it is given for Christ's sake. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and we have in Him a full forgiveness. Having received such mercy, we are then called to a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven us. For some of us who have had so much forgiven, to forgive ought to become as natural as to open our hands.
Yet we would gently encourage you not to think of forgiving or making peace with others as a means to bargain with or to manipulate the spiritual realm, as if peace with men will in itself compel demons to leave. Forgiveness toward others is obedience and freedom before the Lord, but your deliverance and your standing before God do not rest upon whether those who harass you will be reconciled to you. Though we ought to desire to live peaceably with all men as far as it depends on us, it is not necessary that you should have the forgiveness or the favor of your fellow creatures to enter heaven or to be kept safe in Christ. Your safety is with Him with whom there is forgiveness.
To forgive those who have harmed you does not mean you must place yourself back under harassment or seek close fellowship with those who continue to do wrong. To forgive is to release bitterness and vengeance into the hands of God, to wish no evil upon them, and to pray for their good, while still seeking wisdom, boundaries, and protection. If you are in danger or being harassed, we encourage you to seek help from faithful pastors and, where needed, from proper authorities, and not to pursue contact that would put you at further risk in hopes of stopping spiritual oppression.
We will pray for you now to that God with whom there is forgiveness.
Our Father, we come through Jesus Christ Thy Son, with whom alone there is salvation. We thank Thee that there is forgiveness with Thee, full and free, for all who come to Christ in penitence and faith. Grant to this dear soul a deeper assurance of that forgiveness, that being forgiven much, a heart of forgiveness may be sustained by Thy grace. We ask for deliverance, for Thou alone bringest forth Thy people and Thou hast found a ransom.
