We hear your heart and we rejoice with you that God has been giving you discernment about the root of this harassment and the need to deal with unforgiveness, and we understand your frustration that even after you have taken steps to make peace, some of the evil behavior continues.
We want to encourage you and also gently correct where needed. Your wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Those people who harass you are themselves in need of deliverance and salvation, and while their behavior is their own responsibility, the enemy can use them as instruments. We must not confuse the people with the spiritual power behind them.
You are right that unforgiveness gives the enemy a foothold. Scripture warns us, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, and do not give place to the devil Ephesians 4:26-27. Jesus also teaches us, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses Matthew 6:14-15. We commend you for obeying God in forgiving and reaching out. At the same time we want to rebuke the idea that making peace with people is the key to stopping demonic harassment. If possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18 is a command we should obey, but our deliverance does not come from whether other people change or respond well. It comes from Jesus Christ alone. Even if you do everything right to make peace, some may still choose evil, because they have not yet repented and believed.
We also must address the open door that came through the new age. The new age is not harmless spirituality, it is participation with deceiving spirits and is forbidden by God. You shall not be found with anyone who practices divination, or soothsaying, or augury, or sorcery Deuteronomy 18:10. We urge you to fully renounce every new age practice, teaching, object, book, meditation, or ritual you were involved with, confess it as sin, destroy what needs to be destroyed as the believers did who brought their books together and burned them Acts 19:19, and close that door completely in the name of Jesus. If any residue remains, the enemy will try to exploit it.
Your frustration and annoyance are understandable, but we encourage you not to grow weary. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up Galatians 6:9. Forgiveness is not a one time feeling but a daily choice to release the debt as Christ forgave us, bearing with one another and forgiving each other Colossians 3:13. We are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44, and to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Vengeance belongs to God, I will repay says the Lord Romans 12:19, so we can rest in His justice while we continue to obey Him.
We noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention Jesus Christ. We must lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and authority over the enemy. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again, and because we believe in Him and confess Him as Lord, that we are saved, forgiven, and given power to resist the devil. If you have not fully trusted in Jesus alone for salvation, we urge you to do so today, confessing your sins and turning from all other spiritual paths, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.
Practically, we encourage you to submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. Put on the whole armor of God daily Ephesians 6:10-18, stay in the Word, pray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:17, fast as the Lord leads, and remain in fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can receive prayer and accountability. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17.
We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we thank You for this dear one who is seeking You and learning to forgive. We ask You to search the heart and cleanse every root of unforgiveness, bitterness and hurt, and to help in fully renouncing every new age influence. We rebuke every demonic spirit that has harassed and oppressed, and we command in the name of Jesus that it must leave and not return. We ask You to fill this life with Your Holy Spirit, with peace that surpasses understanding, with strength and with joy. We pray for those who have done the harassing, that You would convict them, save them, and deliver them, and that You would protect Your child from all harm. Help us to be persistent in prayer and in doing good, to love enemies, to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to trust Your timing and Your justice. Keep us strong in the Lord and in the strength of Your might, and let us walk in victory because of the blood of Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.
