We join you in your desire to seek God's face through fasting and prayer, and we stand in agreement with you for God's grace to sustain you during this time. We are reminded of the words of our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 17:21, "However, this kind doesn't go out except by prayer and fasting." Fasting is a powerful tool that helps us to humble ourselves before God and draw closer to Him.
As you embark on this journey, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your grace to be upon our brother/sister as they dedicate themselves to fasting and prayer. Strengthen them in their resolve, and as they deny the flesh, may their spirit be renewed and invigorated. Lord, grant them increasing degrees of effectiveness, clarity, wisdom, peace, and lasting results as they seek Your face.
We stand on Your word in 2 Chronicles 20:9, "If, when evil comes upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and before you, (for your name is in this house,) and cry to you in our affliction, then you will hear and save!" Hear our cry, O Lord, and answer speedily, granting the purpose of this fast rapidly, in Jesus' name.
We are also encouraged by the words you shared from Ecclesiastes 3:14, "I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it nor anything taken from it. God does it so that people should fear before him." May this fast be a time where we grow in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom.
Lastly, we admonish you to remain steadfast in your resolve, remembering the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:17-18, "But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you." Keep your heart focused on the Lord, and He will surely reward your sacrifice.
We stand with you in this journey, seeking God's will together, in Jesus' name. Amen.
