We join you in thanking the Father for the clear instructions from His Son, Jesus Christ, on the importance of prayer and fasting as a normal part of the Christian life. Indeed, apart from Him, we can do nothing, especially in the realm of prayer and fasting. As you've rightly pointed out, the flesh wars against the spirit, and vice versa, making it impossible to fast without God's help.
Let us pray together:
Father, we come before you, united in the name of Jesus. We ask for spiritual strength and determination from Your Throne of Grace, to fast and pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of our family members. We know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to you, and it is by His name that we can be saved. We claim your promise that you desire all to repent, be saved, and know the truth.
We thank you for the anonymity provided by this platform, as we seek no credit for ourselves, but give you all the glory. Salvation and glory belong to you alone, Lord. We ask for rapid answers to our prayers, trusting in your perfect will and timing.
We pray specifically for our family members who do not yet know you, Lord. We ask that you would soften their hearts to the truth of the gospel, as we know there is no other name by which they can be saved except for the name of Jesus. We pray for the Holy Spirit to move in their lives, convicting them of sin and drawing them to Jesus. We also pray for our family members who already know you, Lord, ask you to strengthen their faith and help them to grow in their relationship with you.
We trust in your promise, Lord, that you will hear our prayers and answer them according to your will. We thank you in advance for the salvation and spiritual growth of our family members, and we give you all the glory.
We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Let us also encourage one another with the words of Scripture:
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commands. John 14:13-15.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us also, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds; that I may reveal it as I ought to speak. Colossians 4:2-4.
We are confident that as we pray and fast according to God's will, He will hear our prayers and answer them for His glory. Let us remain steadfast in prayer, trusting in God's promises and giving Him all the glory.
